NEW DELHI, June 10, 2024 (BSS) - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi have expressed their desire that the existing bilateral relations between the two neighbouring countries would be further strengthened in future. During the meeting held in a very warm and friendly atmosphere, the Bangladesh prime minister invited her Indian counterpart to visit Dhaka at his convenient time, Hasan said. The bilateral relations between Bangladesh and India have reached a new height under the prudent leadership of Sheikh Hasina and Narendra Modi, he said. The Bangladesh prime minister arrived in New Delhi on Saturday to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the new Indian government at the invitation of her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. Sheikh Hasina reached Dhaka from the Indian capital this evening.

Three killed in Chandpur road accident
CHANDPUR, June 11, 2024 (BSS) - Three people were killed and two others injured in a collision between a sand-laden truck and a CNG-run auto rickshaw on the Chandpur-Cumilla regional highway in Gogra area under Hajiganj upazila of the district this afternoon. All deceased were passengers of the CNG-run auto rickshaw. The accident occurred in the area when a sand-laden truck rammed the CNG-run auto rickshaw coming from the opposite direction around 2:45pm, leaving Sobuj dead on the spot and four others critically injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hajiganj Police Station Abdur Rashid said. The injured were taken to Chandpur Sadar Hospital where two of them succumbed to their injuries, he added. Legal actions will be taken in this regard, said the OC.

For a brief moment after high school at Millard North, Lizzie Johnson considered studying marine biology — there’s something about oceans that seems attractive to land-locked Nebraskans. Jamie Lee Curtis is developing the project from a book that took three years to report and write. She started at the Washington Post in 2021. One of those she’s most proud of is an investigation into a high school rowing coach who was abusing girls on his team. As part of the enterprise reporting team at the Washington Post, she’s traveled to Ukraine to cover that conflict from the front lines.
