Reading time: about 4 minutes“Find us inside till March 28,” read Ithaca Farmers Market’s Instagram bio. As someone who loves the Ithaca Farmers Market, I was both excited and intrigued to find out that this local attraction was still open during the winter months. To escape the cold, the Ithaca Farmers Market had relocated from Steamboat Landing to Triphammer Marketplace, every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. While the summer Farmers Market has more vendors and ready-made food options available for tourists, the winter Farmers Market is more focused on supplying weekly grocery shopping needs for locals. There are only two more weekends left in March, but visiting the Ithaca Farmers Market in Triphammer Marketplace is definitely a worthwhile trip.

CARACAS, March 20, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - Venezuela's interim president said Thursday that she had replaced all her senior military commanders, the latest in a flurry of reforms since the United States ousted Nicolas Maduro. "I announce the designation of the renewed Military High Command," said Rodriguez, who served as vice president under Maduro, the authoritarian leftist toppled in an American special forces raid on January 3. President Donald Trump has said he effectively runs Venezuela now and is letting Rodriguez stay in power so long as she toes the US line. The Venezuelan military, which has sworn loyalty to Rodriguez, is a powerful entity. It oversees oil, mining and food distribution enterprises, as well as customs operations and key government ministries, amid allegations of abuse and corruption.

BEIJING, March 20, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - China's top diplomat told a French presidential adviser on Friday that both countries should work together towards resolving the crisis in the Middle East. "The right way out of the crisis remains dialogue and negotiation", he said, according to a readout from Beijing's foreign ministry. "China and France should work together to that end," he added. WASHINGTON, United States, March 20, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - US President Donald Trump on Friday branded NATO allies "cowards" for not heeding his demand for military assistance against Iran to control the Strait of Hormuz shipping route. Trump has recently veered between saying that Washington needs no help to secure the vital waterway for oil tankers, and then lashing out at other countries for failing to help. "They didn't want to join the fight to stop a Nuclear Powered Iran. The 79-year-old Republican, a long-term skeptic of the Western military alliance, has launched a series of diatribes against NATO in recent days. None of the countries Trump has called on to help was consulted before the US-Israeli mission started.

Behind the BTS comeback, the dark side of K-popSEOUL, March 20, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - K-pop oozes with talent, flair and hard work, but the spectacularly successful South Korean music industry also has a dark side -- sometimes with tragic results. "We can't help those who were given an opportunity for self-improvement but couldn't keep up with the others," Blitzers manager Oh Chang-seok told AFP in 2021. The balance of power between labels and K-pop stars was once heavily skewed, with "slave contracts" mandating unequal profit-sharing and binding artists for well over a decade. "Fans have come to occupy the role not of simple consumers but of participants who invest their emotions and time," Kim told AFP. Unlike many groups elsewhere, K-pop bands are assembled by agencies that invest time and capital to train them in a top-down system.

CAPE CANAVERAL, March 20, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - NASA on Thursday began returning its towering SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft to its Florida launch pad ahead of a planned flyby of the Moon, after completing necessary repairs. The immense orange and white Space Launch System rocket and the Orion vessel were to be slowly wheeled out of the Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and painstakingly moved four miles (6.5 kilometers) to Launch Pad 39B. If the tests are satisfactory, three Americans and one Canadian will head to the Moon as soon as early April to fly around Earth's satellite. Before that setback, NASA had found technical problems including a liquid hydrogen leak that cut short a so-called wet dress rehearsal for the launch. Meanwhile the Artemis 2 astronaut crew entered quarantine on Wednesday in Houston as they prepare for the eventual historic journey.
