Thousands of Hydro-Québec customers in Montreal’s west end are still without power Monday evening, and the Crown corporation says it may not come back on until Tuesday. While most customers had their power restored after it was cut Saturday morning, more than 5,000 Montreal customers were without electricity late Monday. This came after Montreal residents woke up to snow-filled skies and slippery streets on Monday. Some Montreal schools announced weather-related closures on Monday, while other closures were related to ongoing power outages on the Montreal island. Scheer lays out conditions to support GST rebateOpposition House leader Andrew Scheer called the GST rebate a "recycled Trudeau-era policy" that will not permanently reduce the cost of groceries in Canada. By courting Beijing on electric vehicles and canola, he was testing the structural limits of the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA). If Washington dislikes the resulting deal, it has the unilateral right to terminate CUSMA and replace it with a bilateral U.S.-Mexico agreement. It strains credulity that the prime minister pursued a China reset without consulting trade officials who know the terms of CUSMA. Either way, the result is the same: Canada now faces the most serious trade threat in a generation, and we provoked it ourselves. “I told (Carney) that we did not get a satisfactory answer on what the transfer value would be, and we need it. Smith said Alberta “may have to go to the courts” if it Ottawa continues to withhold this figure. “The (panel) was pretty clear in saying you can’t go to a referendum of the people until you know that number,” said Smith. Tombe added that the required multi-year transition to a provincial pension plan would create additional uncertainty. By law, any province that exits the CPP must give Ottawa three years’ notice and put forward a plan that gives residents comparable benefits.

“Later that morning, Mr. Calder received a message from Ms. Blanchette’s phone asking Mr. Calder to give Ms. Blanchette a ride home,” said the decision. At some point after they left the motel, Mr. Allen stabbed Mr. Calder while Mr. Calder was in the driver’s seat, causing Mr. Calder’s death. Mr. Calder suffered approximately 50 stab wounds to his head, neck, chest, side, leg and hands,” said the decision. By all accounts, Mr. Allen’s relationship with Ms. Blanchette was unstable and involved frequent arguments and physical violence. “The defence points to the senselessness of Mr. Calder’s death, arguing that Mr. Allen clearly suffered from drug-induced psychosis at the time,” and that should reduce his moral culpability.

All Nova Scotia Community College campuses were closed, with the Sydney site scheduled to shut at 4 p.m. local time. Public Works Minister Fred Tilley said in an interview Monday morning with the CBC’s Information Morning Nova Scotia that the province had about 400 pieces of snow-clearing equipment mobilized. So explain this to me: why does nobody want their offensive coordinator job? The OC Is a Scapegoat, Not a LeaderLet’s be honest, the Eagles’ OC doesn’t actually run the offense. Limitation Destroys the Coordinator’s UpsideThis is why the Eagles OC role has become toxic. The Locker Room Doesn’t Save YouOn top of all that, the Eagles’ offense is player-driven. From where I’m sitting, the Eagles OC job isn’t undesirable because of pressure.
