Rugby-Australia to host 2027 and 2029 World Cups – Metro US
(Reuters) – World Rugby has confirmed Australia as host of the men’s World Cup in 2027 and the women’s in 2029 and England has been chosen to stage the 2025 women’s tournament, the governing body said on Thursday. The United States was confirmed as host of the men’s showpiece event in 2031 and will stage the women’s tournament two years later. The hosts were finalised following a World Rugby Council meeting in Dublin. England hosted the women’s event in 2010 while it will be the first World Cup on American soil. France is hosting the 2023 men’s World Cup and New Zealand the women’s tournament, postponed in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, later this year.

Judge Rules Transgender Student Has Right To Use Boys' Restroom
A federal judge has ordered an Indiana school district to allow a 13-year-old transgender student to use the boys’ restroom at his middle school. U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt, of the Southern District of Indiana, issued a preliminary injunction last week prohibiting the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville from barring the transgender seventh-grader, A.C., from the boys’ restroom at John R. Wooden Middle School. A.C.’s stepfather asked the school to allow the student to use the boys’ restroom, but the school district denied that request, reports Indianapolis-based FOX affiliate WXIN. Defying the school district’s decision, A.C., of his own accord, began using the boys’ restroom and did so for three weeks without incident or complaint from his fellow classmates. The principal then gave A.C. a choice: he could either use the girls’ restroom or the restroom in the clinic, but would be disciplined if he continued using the boys’ restroom.

A bill that would have permitted teachers to misgender their transgender students by refusing to use their correct names or pronouns has stalled in the Tennessee General Assembly. “Obviously, teachers in schools can and should be required to act with professionalism and treat all of their students with dignity and respect. Nothing in this bill changes that obligation,” co-sponsor Rep. Mark Cochran (R-Englewood), said during a House committee hearing last month, reports NBC News. In Loudoun County, the school board decided to settle part of a lawsuit brought by a gym teacher who was suspended after declaring he would refuse to use transgender students’ correct names and pronouns. Cross and two other teachers are continuing to sue the school district on the grounds that the transgender-affirming policies are inherently unconstitutional.
