The Engineering Export Council of Egypt announced Wednesday the launch of a trade mission consisting of 10 companies in engineering industries to Mauritius next Saturday. The mission comes within the framework of the Export Council’s plan to increase exports to African markets. Executive Director of the Engineering Export Council of Egypt, May Helmy, stated that the Council seeks to open new export markets, especially in Africa, in order to support the state’s plans to promote exports and achieve the goal of increasing exports to $100bn in the coming years. Helmy noted that Egyptian Foreign Ministry has played a great role in facilitating the organization of the Egyptian mission to Mauritius, where a large group of bilateral meetings are scheduled to be held between the Egyptian companies and factories participating in the mission and their counterparts from Mauritius, to learn about export opportunities available in Egypt in all sectors of engineering industries. Three Egyptian women have earned L’Oréal-UNESCO Fellowship For Women In Science National Awards for their scientific achievements, joining other notable women from all around the world. The award ceremony took place on Tuesday at Abdeen Palace, eastern downtown Cairo, in the presence of Vice President of the Academy of Scientific Research & Technology (ASRT) Amr Farouk. Mai Taha, a post-doctoral pharmacy student at Cairo University, has won the fellowship award for her research on using nanotechnology to help in effectively eliminating antibiotic resistant bacteria and treating diabetic foot. Meanwhile, Aya Atef, another post-doctoral pharmacy student at Tanta University, won the fellowship award for finding natural polymers with a molecular footprint that help patients of phenylketonuria (PKU), a rare genetic disease in children. Head of the Scientific Research Committee at the National Council for Women and former minister of scientific research Nadia Zakhary, UNESCO office representative in Egypt, and the director-general of L’Oreal Egypt have attended the ceremony, along with a host of senior officials from research centers and institutes.

Egypt celebrates the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on 29 November every year. In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt salutes this day in solidarity with the steadfast people of Palestine, and in confirmation of the presence of the Palestinian cause alive and present in international forums and in the world conscience, which stands in support of the Palestinian people in their just and legitimate demands and their right to establish their independent state. CAIRO - 30 November 2022: The Arab Women's Organization will hold a workshop Wednesday addressing "the phenomenon of increasing violence against women in the Arab world," with the participation of a group of Arab women and men experts. The workshop will be held in person at the organization's headquarters, and a number of experts will virtually participate in via the Zoom application. Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa held two meetings with the Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khatib and Portuguese Minister of State for Tourism Rita Marques to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the three countries in the field of tourism and antiquities.
