"The Ethiopian Airlines would soon start its flight service from Lahore and Islamabad, in addition to Karachi, to facilitate trade and tourism between the two countries," Abdula said. The envoy was speaking at a meeting with the office bearers and members of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) at its regional office in Lahore. Regional chairman and vice president Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Zaki Aijaz said Ethiopia presents immense opportunities for partnership and investment. He said that Ethiopia should explore Pakistani agricultural products, paper & paperboard products, leather products, products of steel and iron, road tractors, and parts and accessories for tractors—pharmaceutical and surgical products and cement.

UNHCR lauds Ethiopia for boosting refugees' access to basic services
ADDIS ABABA, March 8 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has hailed Ethiopia for boosting refugees' and asylum seekers' access to basic services through an initiative that includes them in the national digital identification system. It envisages facilitating refugees' and asylum seekers' access to basic services such as telecom, finance and other services, the UNHCR said in a statement issued late Thursday. The initiative to include refugees and asylum seekers in the Ethiopian digital ID system was recently launched by the Ethiopian Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS) in partnership with the Ethiopian National ID Program and UNHCR. Data from UNHCR show that Ethiopia hosts more than 823,000 refugees and asylum seekers, predominantly from its neighboring countries, South Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea, and Sudan, across 24 refugee camps. Mbogori also called on countries across the African continent to emulate Ethiopia's move toward boosting refugees' and asylum seekers' access to basic services.

South Africa’s Department of Justice commits to anti-piracy MoU
The Department of Justice in South Africa has agreed to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Partners Against Piracy. PAP is of the opinion that once the MoU is signed, it will also strengthen future co-operation between PAP and the South African Department of Justice and Constitutional Development (DOJ&CD) in combating broadcasting piracy. “Today marks another milestone in the Government’s efforts to fight broadcast and content piracy, which continue to drain the fiscus of billions of rands a year. Since 2020, the South African Cybercrimes Act has permitted through harsher sentences on content pirates. We look forward to strengthening partnerships with a number of stakeholders, including the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, to wage a coordinated war against piracy,” said Marc Jury, CEO, MultiChoice South Africa.
