Also, we need a mechanism to probe into the political design behind such entrapments and compensate the victims of an illiberal dispensation, for which a Truth Commission should be formed.

Getting serious about enforcing CUSMA’s environmental…
Given all this, there is an urgent need to revise the CUSMA environment chapter to provide more rapid responses and enforcement of the obligations therein. Although the RRM cannot be replicated for environmental disputes, given its facility-specific orientation, a revised environment chapter could include the following features. This does not reflect the urgent need for strong and rapid action around biodiversity loss and climate change. The CUSMA environment chapter provides only brief, unenforceable recognition of voluntary commitments from corporations and “the importance of promoting corporate social responsibility and responsible business conduct” (Article 24.13). Meaningful action on the environment also requires addressing the most significant environmental challenge of our time: climate change.

Karnataka: Driverless Metro train’s signaling tests from June 7
BENGALURU: With the stationary testing of the first unmanned train to be run by BMRCL nearing completion, tests related to integration of the signaling system with the prototype train are all set to commence on June 7. These are part of the mainline testing of the driverless train, according to senior Metro officials. Commercial operations on the RV Road-Bommasandra Line (Yellow Line) will be launched in December as planned, they said. Rupee drops 21 paise to close at 83.39 against US dollar
The rupee settled 21 paise lower at 83.39 (provisional) against the US dollar on Wednesday, tracking a negative trend in domestic equities and elevated crude oil prices. Forex traders said dollar demand from importers and oil marketing companies (OMCs) also weighed on the rupee. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the local unit opened at 83.22 and finally settled for the day at 83.39 (provisional), down 21 paise from its previous close. On Tuesday, the rupee pared initial gains to settle 5 paise lower at 83.18 against the US dollar. Risk aversion in global markets and a strong US dollar may further pressurise the rupee," said Anuj Choudhary, Research Analyst at Sharekhan by BNP Paribas.

Thousands of pages of internal documents from Google’s Content API Warehouse were leaked on GitHub in March by an automated bot named yoshi-code-bot. The leaked documents contain details about the kind of data Google collects and uses, sites Google ranks high for sensitive topics, and how it handles minor websites. The secrecy around the Search algorithm has birthed an industry of marketing and SEO experts who help companies navigate rankings on Google. In the dock: On Donald Trump and his legal challenge
Former U.S. President Donald Trump stands on the edge of history as potentially the first American to have held the highest public office in the country to be convicted on a felony charge. Mr. Trump has, in recent weeks, been pursuing his legal defence in the case brought by the U.S. District Attorney’s office in New York state involving 34 charges relating to hush-money that Mr. Trump allegedly paid to adult film actor Stormy Daniels, in exchange for her silence over a purported affair between the two of them. Mr. Trump’s defence relied on painting Mr. Cohen a “liar” and seeking to discredit his account of Mr. Trump reimbursing him for the payout to Ms. Daniels. Even if Mr. Trump is found guilty on any of the charges, he would leave the courthouse a free man as he has been on bail throughout the case thus far. He would seek to remain free at least until he appeals to the Appellate Division in Manhattan, and possibly faces the Court of Appeals.
