Work to begin on 779 new apartments on St Vincent's Hospital site
The Land Development Agency (LDA) announced on Thursday the planned delivery of 779 apartments in Fairview in Dublin on a site at St Vincent's Hospital. The new Richmond Village development is being delivered in partnership with Royalton Developments and Walls Construction and will be constructed on the site of St. Vincent’s Hospital (SVH) in Fairview, just over two kilometres northwest of Dublin city centre. Planning permission was secured for the project in 2023 by Royalton Developments. In addition to the residential development, a new, state-of-the-art 51-bed medical facility will be delivered separately by Royalton Developments and Walls for St. Vincent’s. Manchester City's Champions League match against Galatasaray was halted after protestors invaded the pitch. Erling Haaland opened the scoring for the Premier League champions following an excellent through ball from Jeremy Doku in the 11th minute. Follow our Manchester City Mirror Football Facebook pageRayan Cherki doubled the advantage after more impressive work from Doku down the left flank. Play was later stopped again following a clash of heads between City substitute Tijjani Reijnders and Galatasaray defender Davinson Sanchez. China suspends beef exports from Ireland following bluetongue outbreak
Following the confirmation of bluetongue in Ireland, China has suspended all beef imports. The General Administration of Customs China (GACC) was informed of the outbreak and subsequently decided to suspend acceptance of Irish beef exported from Ireland with effect from January 27. Under the protocol governing the beef trade between Ireland and China, the Irish Government is required to notify the authorities in China of an outbreak of certain notifiable diseases, including bluetongue. Across the subsequent herds, two herds have one infected animal, and the remaining herd has two infected cattle. “Early detection has been a crucial part of our strategy against the bluetongue virus and the rapid response reflects my department’s commitment to that,” Mr Heydon said.

The Michelin Guide Britain and Ireland ceremony will make its Irish debut on Monday, February 9th, while Chef Sessions will run from February 7th – 9th. The Irish Times chef columnist Moriarty will join cocktail bar Bar 1661 in Egan’s pub on Aungier Street, where patrons will be offered a breakfast muffin with a cocktail. The event will take place on the Saturday before the ceremony from 6pm till late and cost €20 per person.
