Weah,Your blatant, deliberate and conscious refusal to even speak with the organizers shows that you really do not care about the alarming rate of rape cases in the country. But it doesn’t only stop there, your refusal to accept the petition in person as demanded by the peaceful protesters, some of whom are babies, clearly shows that your administration has got no intent of putting into place measures to curtail this menace that has engulfed our country. I’ve heard that the protesters will come out again tomorrow, please show some respect to them and the rest of the millions of Liberians who are supporting this cause by going out there to receive the petition in person. STOP LISTENING TO THOSE GIVING YOU BAD PIECES OF ADIVICE. Regards,Mo AliPeaceful Citizen

The Editor“Say No to Rape” “Her No Is No!” These are campaign slogans that have been around for decades. Despite tireless efforts by stakeholders, rape remains one of the most frequently reported crimes in Liberia today, with cases growing at an exponential rate. It is embedded in our culture for which the need for holistic action to root it out is urgent. The world has watched thousands of protests against rape and sexual violence, yet the problem remains prevalent among us today. Despite significant efforts made by the past administration, just after two years of a new administration, rape is creeping back to become an even moe daily evil.

Such position of FPA, we believe, could be simply justified by the slightest indication of the GCB’s date of publication-thus affording the readers the opportunity to weigh-in on the newness of the report, Miamen said. While CENTAL appreciates the use of the report in highlighting corruption and its trends in Liberia, Miamen said it was important that any further analysis is based on careful reading of methodological approaches to the study. He clarified that Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index (CPI) and the GCB are all credible reports and indicators of corruption worldwide, despite some differences in methodology and focus.

The House of Representatives, on June 23, 2020 concurred with the Liberian Senate to adopt the resolution setting the special senatorial elections and national referendum on December 8, 2020 which had previously been scheduled for October 13, 2020. By doing so, the Legislature also ignored President George Weah’s request for the both events to be held on December 8, 2020. Since then the national Elections Commission (NEC) has begun preparations for the electoral processes. As an issue-based election, the group stated that the ballots carry symbols with corresponding scripts to identify, read and vote.
