Zwedru – Aggrieved supporters of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) led-government of President George Manneh Weah have staged a peaceful protest in Grand Gedeh County, demanding the unconditional and immediate departure from the county of Montserrado County Representative Yekeh Korlubah. The aggrieved protesters, mostly youths, were seen chanting anti-slogans and using profanities against Representative Kolubah. The protesters accused Representative Kolubah of ‘killing’ innocent people during the warring days in Liberia, and allegedly engaging into pre-campaigning activities. When contacted via telephone, Representative Kolubah promised to adequately respond to the incident in the soonest possible time. For sometimes now, Representative Kolubah has been very vocal against President Weah and his government.

The tension followed allegation by delegates that members of the primary committee were engaging in fraud during the poll. Unofficial results from the primary is still favoring Montserrado County District #5 Representative Thomas P. Fallah. Fallah has won 14 districts already in Montserrado County after preliminary tallying was conducted in a primary that has lasted for about a week. The primary has brought together 1,500 delegates from each district, amounting to a total of 25,500 persons from across the 17 district electoral districts of the county.

Koinyeneh, [email protected]Paynesville – Family members of a murdered 29-year old man identified as Wulah Massaquoi has threatened to take the Ministry of Health to court if it fails to show the grave of their deceased relative within three days. Massaquoi said when the family contacted the Ministry of Health, it acknowledged removing the body from the community and burying it at the Disco Hill Cemetery in Margibi County. According to Joseph Massaquoi, Wulah earned his living by riding a commercial motorbike. “We are giving a three-day ultimatum against the Ministry of Health to show our brother’s grave or else we will go to court,” Peter Massaquoi warned. The Ministry of Health, through the Liberia National Police, did not do any discovery.

PIAC had uncovered no evidence linking the subject of the complaints, in particular the President, under consideration to the agriculture cases. The panel however noted that the complainants did not state clearly whether these were awards made personally to the President or as President of the Bank. The Panel therefore concurs with the decision of the Committee to dismiss this allegation against the President. The complainants alleged that senior management abuse the travel policy without sanction. It has to be recognized that the President as the elected head of the Bank has to engage in diplomatic outreach.

Liberia: First Lady Boosts Phebe, C. B. Dunbar Hospitals’ Covid19 Fight
Monrovia – As part of her ongoing support to end COVID-19 in Liberia, First Lady Clar Marie Weah has donated assorted medical supplies and food to Liberia’s two largest regional referral and maternity hospitals in central Liberia – Phebe and C. B. Dunbar Hospitals. The medical supplies, including nearly 5,000 surgical masks, 14 electronic thermometers and 110 bags (25kg each) of rice, were donated over the weekend in Bong County. Mr. Kortu said the donation of medical supplies and food demonstrates the First Lady’s concern about the safety and wellbeing of health workers. Dr. Sibley said the hospital was in dire need of such support, especially the medical supplies, as the facility is gradually reopening its doors to the public following a brief period of closure. Phebe Hospital was shut down recently after the Medical Director himself alongwith seven health workers tested positive of the novel coronavirus.
