Canada-based Liberian Asso. Gives Support to Orphans Amid COVID-19
The donation, which took place recently was also supported by the office of Grand Gedeh County Senator, A Marshall Dennis. Each of the beneficiaries received 20 bags of rice and the donation was made on behalf of FLAC by a team headed by Atty. Mr. Sandy noted that the call was heeded as financial contribution came from the Liberian community which enabled the deliveries to be possible, swift, and timely. Stewart said FLAC and its members put their meager resources together to help Liberians by purchasing these rice. FLAC was founded in October of 2014 in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada as a non-profit community organization.

Two Non-Profit Groups Team-up to Feed Over 50 Liberian kids
The Kumba Foundation and Cavala Scientific, LLC, two US-based organizations were the latest to put smiles on the faces of scores of Liberian orphans. Making remarks on behalf of the Kumba Foundation and Cavala Scientific LLC, the group’s focal person in Liberia said the donation is a way of identifying with less fortunate people during COVID-19. Meanwhile, the Kumba Foundation and Cavala Scientific LLC have also committed to working to transform the lives of orphans in Liberia. The Kumba Foundation is a registered nonprofit organization both in the United States and Liberia. For Cavala Scientific LLC, it is a medical supply company also based in the United States.

Liberia: Government Lawyers Request Dismissal of Former NPHIL Director Tolbert Nyenswah’s Motion
Nyensuah has filed a motion to dismiss the travel ban against him but the State argues that it is “not the proper premise as laid down by law”. Monrovia – Government lawyers have asked the Court to deny a motion by the former National Public Health Institute (NPHIL) Director Tolbert Nyenswah, who has filed an application to Criminal Court C requesting the court to dismiss the travel ban filed against him by the State. Prosecution further requested the court to quash or dismiss the motion filed by Tolbert Nyenswah. “The Republic, having resisted the motion filed before this court, argument is hereby dispensed and ruling is hereby reserved pending regular notice of assignment,” Judge Gbeisay ordered. On May 25, 2020, the former Director of NPHIL filed a six-count petition to Criminal Court C requesting Judge Yeami Gbeisay to dismiss the government’s travel ban filed against him.

Walker, [email protected]According to the Technical Director of the Liberia Tennis Federation, Alfred Kandakai, the gesture is being arranged by Spanish coach Dani Gill. “The Australian and Spanish federations have both agreed to help us with some training materials,” he told reporters via social media. “As you may know, we don’t have training materials, mainly balls. The Liberia Tennis Federation has been without an elected leadership since the death of Dr. Herald Mongor in 2013.

Spouse of Liberia’s Honorary Consul Identifies with Students at Rochas Foundation College in Nigeria
Chief Mrs. Nzeruem said it was important to express solidarity with the students during this difficult period of the novel Coronavirus Pandemic. Established by the Rochas Foundation and owned by former Imo State Governor, now Senator, Honorable Rochas Okorocha, the College enrolls five underprivileged children every year from each African state. Since the 2017-2018 academic uear, the institution has admitted a total of 10 underprivileged Liberian students. Hawa M. Karsieh, Musu Massaquoi, Ida Swen, Abdoulai Farswarwuo and Mulbah S. Kokulo were the first group of Liberian students who enrolled during the 2017-2018 academic year, the release recalls. The second batch of Liberian students includes Obediah Bondo, Esther Korpo Salee, Blessing Sabah Ballah, Rita T. Baryorga and Martha Banto.

Senator Dillion’s investigation by the Liberian Senate is void ab initio
The purported letter of Senator Tengbeh requested the Liberian Senate to “subject Senator Dillon to an investigation, give him due process in line with the Senate rules and the constitution of Liberia and apply the appropriate sanctions if found guilty of the allegation levied against him”. This article seeks to unmask the brash attempt by the Liberian Senate to use that letter as a tool to silence the loudest voice against the wholesale raiding of state resources through darkroom dealings. When a petition, signed by two thirds of the membership of the Senate, addressed to the Liberian Senate, against a Senator is presented to the Secretary of the Senate, same shall be forwarded to the Plenary for consideration. d. The Plenary shall debate the report and act upon the recommendation. e. the expulsion of a member of the Liberian Senate shall conform to Article 38 of the Constitution of the Republic of Liberia.”With the above provisions, the Senate is proceeding in egregious disregard of the laws in the cooked investigation and any outcome arising therefrom would be void ab initio.

It is also interesting that the government-controlled media always refer to the previous ambassador, Bill Swing as having been recalled by the United States. But the state media in Liberia repeatedly say, “The recalled Ambassador Swing has been replaced by Mr. Perkins.”Williams Perkins was US Ambassador to Liberia at the time. I think that they seem to regard the Doe government as vainly trying to keep the United States on its side.

Liberia: Esther and Jereline Medical Hospital Being Looted?
Some of those equipment that were allegedly taken from the hospital and sold to the scrap buying center in GantaGanta, Nimba County – FrontPageAfrica has gathered that several pieces of medical equipment from the Esther and Jereline Medical Hospital in Ganta have been allegedly looted by the Administrator, Mr. Victor W. Kpaiseh. According to an insider at the Esther and Jereline Hospital, the act is intended to get the hospital emptied of equipment so that when government takes over, it can buy equipment for use at the hospital. When contacted, Mr. Kpaiseh, who has been accused of looting the equipment, said he will respond at a later time. The proprietor of the hospital, Representative Jeremiah Koung, however, said those equipment and other materials that are reported to have been looted from the hospital, are old and were no longer useful to the hospital. According to the aggrieved workers, Kpaiseh brings and puts into positions most of his Inland Church members who do not know the job well.
