PETALING JAYA: Rising star Hakimi Abdullah has surpassed his own expectation in his debut with Terengganu. Hakimi made the headlines last week when he struck his third goal of the season to gift his side a 1-0 victory against Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT). The morale-boosting win saw Terengganu moving up to second place in the standings, two points behind JDT. “But I feel like I’m able to adapt better after each match and I’m now starting to find the net too. Hakimi signed for Terengganu from neighbouring Kelantan after spending the last three seasons with the Premier League side.

(Reuters) - McLaren boss Zak Brown has called for secret votes on rule changes to ensure Formula One teams are not pressured by bigger partners. He highlighted the close alliances between certain teams as a problem that needed to be addressed to ensure fair competition. Champions Mercedes, McLaren's engine suppliers, have close links with Aston Martin and Williams while Ferrari provide Haas and Alfa Romeo with engines. "I do not wish to see the number of teams in F1 reduce, but team affiliations remain an issue because they do not promote a level playing field. The F1 Commission must approve any rule changes, with a super-majority of 28 out of 30 votes required in the current season.

"I don't feel like my physical condition is very different (from Portugal), it's very similar," Marquez told reporters on Thursday. "(I have) no clear target, just ride the bike, more kilometres, try to feel better on the position of the bike. We know better where our limit is now, it's not the bike, it's not the tyres – it's me." The Frenchman won the first two races last season in Jerez with Yamaha's satellite team. "It means nothing that we won both races last year."

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India's severe medical oxygen supply crisis is expected to ease by mid-May, a top industry executive told Reuters, with output rising by 25% and transport infrastructure ready to cope with a surge in demand caused by a dramatic rise in coronavirus cases. Banerjee said India was importing around 100 cryogenic containers to transport large quantities of liquid medical oxygen, with Linde providing 60 of those. Many of these containers will be placed on dedicated trains that would cut across the country, each carrying between 80-160 tonnes of liquid oxygen and delivering to multiple cities. "We are trying to create a hub-and-spoke type of system so that we make a lot of liquid oxygen available at the local area, from where the local dealers can pick it up," Banerjee said. India's total COVID-19 cases passed 18 million on Thursday after another world record number of daily infections.

KUALA LUMPUR (April 29): Is it reasonable to impose a compound as high as RM50,000 for standard operating procedure (SOP) violations, when many are still struggling due to the economic downturn caused by the Covid-19 pandemic? The question is raised by netizens, who disagreed with the actions taken by the Kelantan police against several small traders in the State. “Referring to the three cases in Kelantan, the enforcement officers might have considered them to be in the corporation/organisation category. Meanwhile, lawyer Muhammad Akram Abdul Aziz said the authorities should use their discretion when issuing compound notices. “The ‘double standard’ issue was raised because many had the perception that the authorities were selective in enforcing the law.

KUALA LUMPUR (April 29): The Ministry of Health (MoH) has agreed to involve private specialist clinics and ambulatory care centres in phases two and three of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme. The government’s decision to involve these facilities comes after it had approved the involvement of private hospitals in the vaccination programme on April 12. According to him, the government decided to add private hospitals to the list of vaccination centres after they had volunteered to ensure that 80% of the population was immunised as soon as possible. “Thus, the government will give free vaccines to private hospitals to maximise distribution and access to the vaccine to the people,” he said. Private hospitals that are keen to get involved may also register at the same website today, where they may also find out about vaccination procedures, scope of responsibility, payment rates and methods.

Landlords, or buy-to-let investors, need to be very clear about the objectives, options and affordability of their investments, he says. “First, investors need to know their objectives. If you don’t start that way, you won’t know what property to buy. “Also, I know that I am going to sell the property later, so I won’t have any emotional attachments to it. Investors need to be prepared for the risks and the effort it takes to maintain the property.
