In this view, as the influential climate scientist Michael Mann puts it, Saudi Arabia "is one of the villains." "I would not claim I had influence, but certainly I have helped and supported the 180-degree change towards a collaborative solution" in Saudi Arabia, he said. For the Saudis, climate change poses "an existential threat," he said, but in a completely different way it does to small island nations, for instance. If KAUST's experiment succeeds, it may allow coral from Saudi Arabia to be transplanted to other parts of the world. Saudi Arabia is diversifying its economy and will become significantly less dependent on oil exports in the coming years, the prince said.

(Reuters) - Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson praised the fans for making their voices heard to protest against the club's involvement in the Super League and thanked them for putting pressure on the hierarchy to withdraw their support for the competition. Liverpool's players had also voiced their opposition to the breakaway league earlier this week before the club's owner John Henry apologised for the "disruption" the decision caused. Stopping the proposal was your victory – you showed you cannot and must not be ignored," Henderson said. Unlike Europe’s elite Champions League competition, where teams have to qualify through their domestic league, the Super League would have guaranteed the founders a place every year. I understand and share the disappointment of our own fans and the wider football community for this failing."

Over the last 10 years, we have witnessed the unstoppable rise of the tech sector in the economy. It is against this backdrop that the MyDIGITAL plan was introduced, with the aim to transform Malaysia into a “digitally driven, high-income nation and a regional leader in the digital economy”. Since “software eats the world”, distinguishing between a digital and non-digital economy is no longer very useful. The hawker stall owner squarely fits into the MyDIGITAL plan’s definition of the digital economy: “economic and social activities that involve the production and use of digital technology by individuals, businesses and government”. The point is that when digital technologies already are as fundamental to the economy as electricity and running water, policies to increase the dynamism and competitiveness of the economy overall will have a greater effect than policies narrowly targeted to increase digital adoption.

MUMBAI: The outperformance of India’s mid-cap stocks over their larger peers since the coronavirus pandemic engulfed global markets may take a breather, according to some investors. The S&P BSE Midcap Index has outperformed the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex Index in all but five months since the end of 2019, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. While the Sensex is now flirting with a technical correction after climbing to a record high in February, expensive smaller stocks may have more to lose, the fund managers said. His firm has started nibbling at shares of some large companies and plans “meaningful buying” on corrections, especially in bank stocks. The easy monetary policies of global central banks have lifted mid caps more than large stocks as they were relatively very cheap, but that’s not the situation anymore, Srivastava said.
