MANCHESTER, England (Reuters) - Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said a European Super League in which 15 clubs cannot be relegated was not sport and has called on those behind the project to explain themselves. City, along with Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, are the six Premier League clubs signed up for the new 20-club league announced on Sunday. "Sport is not a sport when the relation between the effort and the success, the effort and the reward, doesn't exist. "That's why I said many times I want the best competition as strong as possible, especially the Premier League," he said. Guardiola said he had only been told of the European Super League a few hours before it was announced.

The orbs barrel down the Swiss mountain, toppling beech and spruce trees as they pick up speed. These "test rocks" – the heaviest weighing 3,200 kilograms (7,000 lbs)– are part of research aimed at understanding the growing risk of rockfalls around the world. As climate change warms high-altitude mountain regions, boulders and rocks long frozen into place are being loosed and tumbling downslope. Scientists do not have much data on rockfalls, partly because they often happen in remote regions where few people live. On the lower slopes of Switzerland's Meretschihorn mountain, one couple had to be evacuated five times last year.

Overheard at a restaurant: “Rents are so low now that I should just sell the place. Would I continue to accept rental income if I could get a higher yield by selling the property and putting that money in FD, even at 1.75% to 2%? The remaining one-third difference could yield different benefits, depending on what it is spent on: education, vacations or the finer things in life. There are merits to home ownership and not everyone wants to live in neighbourhoods where property prices are north of RM1 million. That does not mean it is no longer important for policymakers to make sure there is enough supply of affordable housing.

"From what I've seen on Twitter, I haven't seen one football fan who's happy about it," Bamford told Sky Sports when asked about the breakaway league. But despite all the signals to the contrary, the lawyer from Ljubljana insisted there was "nothing personal" for him about the bitter row. The UEFA president had laughed off such opinions and indeed when he was re-elected to his position in 2019 he heralded their connection as a guarantee against a club breakaway ever occurring. At that congress, Ceferin boldly declared that there would be no Super League while the pair were in their respective positions. "We are sure that we are right and we will fight to the end. LONDON (Reuters) - Britain will add India to its travel "red-list" on Friday after detecting 103 cases of a coronavirus variant first identified in the country, health minister Matt Hancock said on Monday. "We've made the difficult but vital decision to add India to the Red List. This means anyone who is not a UK or Irish resident or a British citizen cannot enter the UK if they've been in India in the previous 10 days," Hancock told parliament. The move was taken as a precaution while the variant first identified in India was assessed. Asked whether vaccines being rolled out in Britain worked against the variant, Hancock said he could not give that assurance but was looking to establish an answer as soon as possible.

Prosecutors in September 2019 alleged it failed to spot accounts involved in money laundering, end relations with suspicious clients, and report such transactions.
