Woman files report against Amanah rep, alleging sexual assault
PETALING JAYA: A woman who says she is an active PKR member has filed a police report claiming she was sexually assaulted by a state assemblyman from Parti Amanah Negara. In a police report dated March 16 filed at Bandar Sunway, the woman named the Amanah representative and claimed he sexually assaulted her at a shopping centre there. As he was a politician, I agreed and was honoured to meet him," she said in the report. She further claimed that the assemblyman sexually assaulted her on the way to a restaurant. Attempts have been made to get a response from the assemblyman, who holds a senior position in the party, over the police report.

MM2H review should avoid future undiplomatic incidents
MM2H, however, was suspended in March last year following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, MM2H was recently shoved into the limelight following the diplomatic “divorce” between North Korea and Malaysia where Pyongyang had accused Malaysia of extraditing a North Korean national, reportedly a participant of MM2H, to the United States. Although this temporary suspension means massive revenue loss for Malaysia, the programme needs to be reinvigorated so that it could further contribute towards the national economy. MM2H’s target market is one vital point that needs to be studied seriously to avoid the occurrences of unwanted, undiplomatic incidents such as the recent KL-Pyongyang row. It was reported that MM2H had brought RM40.6bil into Malaysia, with more than RM600mil coming in just from MM2H property purchases in 2018.

The relationship between doctors and private hospitals
In 2018, the ratio of private hospitals to government hospitals was 5:3, with the biggest hospital groups being KPJ, Pantai/Gleneagles and Columbia Asia. This was a new concept in Malaysia, as all other private hospitals had a system where the doctor’s fee is separate from the hospital charges. Equipment like ultrasound machines are usually purchased by private hospitals for the use of the doctors. I don’t see a future where private hospitals allow doctors to own their clinics. In the future, private hospitals might just employ doctors directly, so that they will have total control of them.

Fears loom over elevated highway construction site
PETALING JAYA: Social media users and residents have expressed concern over the ongoing Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) construction project following the latest fatal accident. Wall Street closes up on tech rebound; Tesla gains
