It can be hard to discover just how significantly it is impacting our behaviours and thought patterns. A few years ago, I came to the scary realisation that I was outsourcing my memory to the internet. There were things that I chose not to remember because I knew I could just google them. But then I started to wonder: If I’m not using my brain to store information, what am I using it for? A few months ago, I read a book called The Shallows: How the internet is changing the way we read, think and remember by Nicholas Carr.

(Reuters) - Even by his standards it has been an eventful week for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who signed off after performing at the Sanremo music festival by declaring: "I love you Italy, my second home." James, one of the NBA's leading voices against racial injustice and police brutality, responded by vowing to "never shut up about things that are wrong", but Ibrahimovic stood by his comments. "After three hours in the car, I told my driver to open the door to let me out," Ibrahimovic said. "Everyone knew Zlatan before this festival, so why did Zlatan come here? "I am at this festival to tell all of you that in your own small way, you can be Zlatan.

LIVERPOOL, England (Reuters) - Liverpool slumped to a club-record extending sixth consecutive home league defeat as they lost 1-0 to Fulham after a first-half goal by Mario Lemina in the Premier League on Sunday. The defeat by the relegation-threatened visitors marks the first time since the 1953-54 season that the Reds have lost six games at Anfield in a league campaign. Liverpool stay seventh on 43 points, four points off fourth-placed Chelsea having played a game more. Fulham remain in the bottom three on 26 points after 28 games but now only trail 17th-placed Brighton & Hove Albion on goal difference. We conceded a goal, didn't score, lost the game, it was not good enough," he added.

Anal swab was first made known to the public around mid-January when a nine-year-old pupil from Daxing district in Beijing was found to be asymptomatic. The “story” that went around was that they had just undergone the anal swabs. It resurfaced however after three countries, as of last Thursday, raised their complaints on the use of the anal swab on their citizens. Anal swab is time-consuming compared to throat and nasal swabs, so why did Beijing insist on continuing with the practice? The hospital told the daily that the doctor had done the proper diagnosis and treatment.

AT least nine activists were killed during a coordinated crackdown by security forces on civil liberties groups tagged as “communist fronts” in four provinces just south of the capital Manila. The raids happened just two days after Duterte ordered security forces to “kill” and “finish off” armed communist rebels, without regard for human rights. Civil rights activists said they have seen crackdowns by security forces against them intensify since Duterte signed the “anti-terror law” last year. But human rights groups said the law is being used to crack down on activists criticising Duterte’s drug war and human rights record. At least 300 activists, including 55 lawyers and judges who were tagged as communist sympathisers, have been killed since Duterte became president in 2016.

(Reuters) - Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has brushed off criticism over his performances against the Premier League's top clubs, saying his impact should not be judged solely on goals and assists. Fernandes has made a big impression after joining from Sporting Lisbon last year, with 34 goals and 21 assists in all competitions. "I don't know what people mean by 'top six', because the teams are in top six in the table," Fernandes told Sky Sports. Despite the criticism, Fernandes is relishing the pressure of being the team's talisman. I'm sure in some moments, I will score, assist, and I will perform.

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - To get the best out of a bubble-weary squad in a COVID-19 world is never easy, but India combined empathy with a "kick in the backside" approach to get the job done in the just-concluded home test series against England. Soon after the Twenty20 competition, they headed to Australia where they won the test series 2-1 before rushing home to host England. "From when the season started, our main aim was to show empathy," India head coach Ravi Shastri told Star Sports on Saturday after India's 3-1 series victory against England. As in Australia, India lost the series opener against England, prompting the team management to take the other approach. He's a genuine match winner and he's worked like hell over the last three or four months."
