The subject matter revolves around 20 paintings from abstract artist Hamidi Hadi's solo exhibition Saring II: Sublimity, currently on view at Wei-Ling Contemporary. Unlike figurative work, abstract art is not meant to be recognisable, and is therefore subjective to its audience, ” says Lim. This theme is continuously reflected in my work, including my recent series Saring and Saring II: Sublimity. I think that The Visual Poetry Project invites us to be more aware of both ourselves and Mother Nature. The selected poems inspired by the Saring II: Sublimity show will be included in the exhibition catalogue.

The study found people are more apt to believe sexual harassment claims by women who are young,"conventionally attractive" and appear and act feminine. It examined who observers think is harassed, what constitutes harassment and how claims of harassment are perceived. "People might delude themselves into thinking they wouldn't be sexually harassed," Bandt-Law said,"and then not go to the human resources and report it." "This paper helps us understand that stereotypes about women are guiding biased perceptions of sexual harassment," she said. "We're looking to see if we have biased perceptions when transgender women and black women are sexually harassed."

My disappointment stems from the way the lesson was conducted, the involvement of the teacher, her enthusiasm and presentation style and even content and accuracy. The content has to be interactive, animated, made relevant to everyday life and, more importantly, science-based and presented in a storytelling manner. Our cultural and religious values should be part of the teachers’ teaching plan where they can be imparted during the appropriate lesson. In order to inculcate interest and passion towards STEM, let us look at the content and presentation style and not merely medium of instruction. Science and Math are extremely fascinating even though many perceive these subjects as complicated and boring.

Our waterways are choked and plastic waste is killing marine life. To assuage that guilt, I have gone the extra mile to reduce the use of single-use plastic in other ways. But my beef is the amount of free single-use plastic bags that shoppers use before they reach the checkout lane. Supermarkets generously provide spools of single-use plastic bags in the fruit and vegetable sections. I use whatever I have saved up: from the ubiquitous pink or orange bags to thicker plastic bags wrapping electrical goods or cosmetics and skincare products.
