Multiple offers for derelict house untouched for 50 years
It was listed as the worst house in the best street, but it may have turned out to be the best bargain. The derelict New Zealand house at 78 Creswick Terrace, Northland, Wellington has sold for $AUD 646,000 after multiple offers were received for the deadline sale by listing agent Michael Adams of Ray White Wellington. This derelict Cresswick Terrace house in Northland, Wellington has an RV of $1.23m. The property had been in the same family for 70 years, and "untouched for 50 years". When the property was listed Adams said six to eight truckloads of rubbish were taken away from in and around the house.

Labour's crime crackdown promise met with cautious optimism - but not from National
If re-elected, Labour is promising 300 new officers and legislation to crack-down on gang convoys, as well as a commitment to look at updating laws around stalking. Enter National, which agreed more officers were needed, but its police spokesperson Mark Mitchell was deeply sceptical about Labour's delivery. He said an increase in officers was nothing compared to the increase in gang members, violent crime and retail crime. National has already committed to gang crackdown measures such as banning gang patches in public places, warrantless search powers and dispersal notices. Victims often have to get protection orders to stop it, which did not actually stop the stalking immediately.

Mercury rejects Electric Kiwi's 'big four' market abuse claims
Power gentailer Mercury says it isn’t abusing its market power, pointing out it supplies products to independent retailers including Electric Kiwi. Mercury chief financial officer William Meek said the company “refutes” Electric Kiwi’s claims, and said it supplied products to a range of power retailers including Electric Kiwi. Chief executive Sarah Gillies said its review into competition in the wholesale market “did not draw any definitive conclusions on the exercise of market power”. The review found there was some evidence generators may have exercised market power, however, “evidence was lacking for structural interventions to address market power”. Gillies said the Authority "actively and transparently" monitored the exercise of market power in the spot market and reported this analysis weekly.
