A date has yet to be set for Napoli to reopen talks with representatives of Victor Osimhen over a contract extension as the striker’s camp remains far from impressed with comments attributed to the club President. Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis was damning in his comments against Osimhen, saying among other things that he has “never been comfortable with Osimhen” and “disappointed” that the player’s entourage has backed out on a gentleman’s agreement for Osimhen’s contract to be extended for two more years. Osimhen and his agent, Robert Calenda, have been enraged by these comments amid recent events that have compromised the relationship between the parties. Official Napoli statements have since reported that the club will soon meet with Osimhen’s camp for discussions to continue over this contract extension. The Napoli record signing three years ago has a contract with the Serie A champions until June 2025.
