The Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday refused to grant the request of the All Progressives Congress to remove Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, from the governorship seat following his defection from the party to the Peoples Democratic Party. Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo held that a similar request on the subject matter had been voided by the Court of Appeal in several judgments. Listed as 1st to 3rd defendants in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/449/2022 are Independent National Electoral Commission, Peoples Democratic Party, and Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal respectively. APC had asked the court to declare the governorship seat of Sokoto State vacant on the account of defection by Tambuwal to another party. The party claimed that Tambuwal who won the Sokoto governorship election in 2019 under the APC must vacate his seat if he decided to go to another party.

Russia launched a drone attack on Ukraine’s southern port city of Odesa early Wednesday but there were no immediate reports of casualties, authorities said. Kruk said Ukraine’s air defences had destroyed most of the attacking drones but some civilian infrastructure was hit. The Black Sea port of Odesa was a favourite holiday destination for many Ukrainians and Russians before President Vladimir Putin sent troops into Ukraine in February last year. It was also hit by a drone attack two weeks ago that caused some damage. In January, the United Nations cultural agency UNESCO designated the historic centre of Odesa a World Heritage in Danger site.

According to her, an officer of the Department of State Services made the “very bizarre, unfounded wild allegations” against her. This said statement was allegedly made when the officer was being tortured at gunpoint by the agents of the Adamawa State Governor and the Government House police team alongside their political thugs. The REC was illegally told to stand down by two INEC national commissioners from Abuja who were supposed to be in Adamawa in a supervisory capacity. “The roles of these INEC officers from Abuja and the real mission of the two to the Government House should be of interest to all democrats. “I urge all lovers of democracy to take a deeper interest in our electoral process and democracy not only in Adamawa but in the whole country.

Most of the protests embarked upon by students were initiated in Awo Hall, where leaders of the Students Union usually reside. Cultists and criminals had no place in Awo Hall, which had a very rich history of zero tolerance for betrayals, stooges and collaborators. The government of the Western Region did not want to rely on federal universities or those of other regions to admit its numerous secondary school leavers. Imagine for instance, that Awo Hall produced Femi Falana, SAN and I went through the same Awo Hall many years after, with no functional toilets, no electricity, no water, nothing other than the bed space that you paid for. But this cannot be a justification for the barbaric action of Awo Hall students who turned themselves into judges in their own cause.

Cody Bowman, a spokesperson for Portland mayor Ted Wheeler, said his office looked forward to reviewing FA's research. “And the Portland police department doesn’t care about the effects of long-term consistent exposure to teargas. Lingering scarsNearly three years after the teargassing began, the wounds from the events linger in the city of Portland, advocates said. “The fact that they used this level of violence to suppress people’s voices and deflect the communication of protesters, that’s never going away.

However, as is often the case, new talent may not be the silver bullet you need when there is a shortage of capacity in-house. If there are enough innovative ideas being generated in an organization, there may not be a need for new, replacement or substitutionary talent. People treat leadership with suspicion when there is evidence of the “aayo” syndrome in talent management. Create a learning organization as well as a conducive environment for individual growth and career advancement. Let current staff know that there is room for career growth.
