(UPDATE) SOUTH Korean singer Moon Bin of the boy band Astro died on Wednesday, the band's record label Fantagio said. He was found dead in his home in Gangnam, Seoul. Three arrested for credit card scam as police seize valuables worth HK$1.5m
Three people aged 28 to 35 were arrested by police over a scam in which they used citizens’ credit card information – stolen through phishing messages – and spent over HK$1.5 million on shopping. They would then tell citizens their membership points accumulated were about to expire and lure citizens to visit certain links and enter their credit card information, including the card validation code (CVC/CVV). After citizens entered the information, they received notifications from the bank the same day that their credit cards were suspected to be stolen. Meanwhile, the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) received complaints from citizens regarding credit card theft. They also slammed banks for failing to intervene in time and put suspicious transactions on hold when the credit limit was exceeded.

Bantag says he wishes to surrender — RemullaMANILA, Philippines — Former Corrections chief Gerald Bantag, who is facing warrants over the killing of radio broadcaster Percy Lapid and the middleman in the case, has sent feelers for surrender, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said Thursday. The justice secretary said Bantag did not give any conditions for surrender, but only asked if it was possible to turn himself in. Remulla refused to disclose the identity of his colleague who received the call from Bantag some five or six days ago. Police hunting driver who fled To Kwa Wan crash scene
The police are looking for a driver who had left the scene of an accident involving a Mercedes-Benz sedan and a taxi near Ma Tau Wai Estate in To Kwa Wan early Thursday morning. The police were alerted to the scene at around 3 am today that saw the Benz slam into a taxi parked on the slow lane of Ma Tau Chung Road. It is understood the driver of the Benz fled the scene on foot after the accident. Passerbys have managed to make a snapshot of the driver and have since relayed the information to officers investigating the accident. The taxi driver sustained minor injuries and was brought to the hospital for treatment.

A falling solar panel crushed a vehicle driving along Tsing Wun Road in Tuen Mun on Wednesday afternoon, with the driver luckily escaping the freak event uninjured. It's thought that the wind may have blown off the solar panel from a nearby building, with the observatory recording strong gusts across the territory – up to about 100 kilometers in Tsim Sha Tsui. Dashcam footage circulated online recorded the solar panel and debris falling from the sky just seconds before the car was crushed by the items, shattering its windshield. PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the creation of an "El Niño Team" that will handle the government's response to the effects of the impending weather phenomenon, an official said on Tuesday. So through mechanisms of the NDRRMC (National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council), he (Marcos) specifically instructed us to form an El Niño Team immediately. He said the President wanted the government, specifically the Department of Health, to focus on illnesses that are usually experienced during the El Niño phenomenon.
