The Minister of Transport in the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, discussed with the acting Foreign Minister Taher Al-Baour, the latest developments regarding the tanker Badr, which is being held at the port of Burgas in Bulgaria. The meeting, attended by several officials; including the Deputy Minister of Transport for Administrative Affairs and Maritime Transport, Wissam Al-Idrisi; Libya’s ambassador to Bulgaria, Abubakr Saeed; and the Chairman of the National Maritime Transport Company, Diaa Bakra, reviewed the latest developments and actions taken in the case. Attendees confirmed that the legal track of the case is progressing positively and in favor of the National Maritime Transport Company, despite the complexity of the case and the multiple legal claims linked to the tanker. They agreed to continue implementing a joint action plan combining legal and political efforts to support the enforcement of court rulings and enhance communication with relevant Bulgarian authorities, ensuring the protection of Libya’s state rights and those of the company. They also stressed their full support for the company’s efforts and commended the role of the Libyan embassy in Bulgaria in closely following the case and coordinating ongoing efforts.
