Libya’s eastern based Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) announced today that Germany’s Ferrostaal oil services company is to resume its gas exploitation work at AGOCO’s Sarir and Messla J22 Fields. The project aims to capture natural gas released during crude oil production. AGOCO said this move comes within the framework of its commitment to supporting gas development projects, increasing production rates, and achieving optimal utilization of resources. In June 2025 AGOCO had announced that 96% of the gas utilization project at the J22 field had been completed. It had also announced that the final phase of the project was to begin on 15 July.
