Head of Judicial Police injured in armed attack in Tripoli

The Judicial Police Department has strongly condemned an armed attack in Tripoli in which its head, Faraj al-Mabrouk, was injured by gunfire. In a statement, the department described the incident as a serious violation of the law and a direct attack on state authority and its official institutions. It said the attack represented a clear targeting of state officials and reaffirmed that the Judicial Police would continue to carry out its duties to maintain security and public order across the country. The statement added that the department remains committed to enforcing the law in line with its national and legal responsibilities. Al-Mabrouk was shot by unidentified gunmen while leaving his workplace at the reform and rehabilitation institution (Aljadiada) in the capital.
