Libyan Airlines plans to sell damaged aircraft

Libyan Airlines says it intends to sell several old aircraft and damaged structures that have been parked for years at Tripoli International Airport. The company said the aircraft have been out of service for more than 15 years and are no longer suitable for maintenance or operation, adding that many were damaged during periods of conflict. Items listed for sale include three small Cessna aircraft, a Super Marlin aircraft, a Fokker F27, and two Sud Aviation Caravelle planes. The offer also includes damaged aircraft structures, such as the fuselage of a large Airbus A330, three Airbus A320 fuselages, two structures from ATR 42 aircraft and three from Bombardier CRJ900 planes, as well as containers containing aircraft debris and spare parts. The airline said companies interested in purchasing the items must submit their offers within 10 days of the announcement and remove the purchases from the airport within 10 days of signing the sales contract.
