The General Directorate of Security Operations has announced the thwarting of an illegal migration attempt by nine Sudanese migrants off the coast of Qarabulli, after intercepting two inflatable boats prepared for smuggling operations. In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the Directorate said that patrols from the Maritime Tasks Unit of the Special Tasks Department intercepted the two boats on Friday, carrying nine illegal Sudanese migrants, as they attempted to set sail off the coast of Qarabulli. The statement added that the patrols took the necessary legal measures regarding the incident, and the detainees and the seized items were transferred to the Special Tasks Department headquarters to complete the legal procedures before referring them to the relevant authorities.
