Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said the government gives a top priority to restructuring economic entities during the current phase. Madbouly made the remarks in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Eissa on Monday, February 16, 2026, to follow up on the developments on restructuring economic bodies and state-owned companies. For his part, Eissa said work is underway to speed up the restructuring of economic entities. Another meeting is planned with the General Authority for Supply Commodities, which has submitted its development plan. Regarding state-owned companies, Eissa said he is currently reviewing files related to 40 companies proposed for transfer to the Egypt Sovereign Fund, submitted by the unit responsible for restructuring state-owned enterprises.
