There has been a lot of talk regarding international cricketers giving preference to the T20 format rather than Test cricket. However, the biggest players in world cricket have often talked about the importance of Test cricket and how they always keep the format with the highest recognition. Australia batsman Steve Smith has also given his preference to Test cricket and has even said that he is willing to skip the 2021 T20 World Cup to get fit for the Ashes. The T20 World Cup will be played in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from Oct. 17 to Nov. 14, having been shifted from India due to the COVID-19 pandemic there. "There's still a bit of time between now and (the T20 World Cup), and I'm tracking OK at the moment.
