Carrie Lam and her cabinet will donate one month's salary for philanthropy amid the novel coronavirus outbreak. The government says the chief executive and her cabinet, including executive councilors, will donate one month's salary to the Community Chest to show their solidarity with ordinary Hong Kongers suffering from a slowing economy due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Ip said many companies in Hong Kong have announced similar moves. Meanwhile, Executive Council Covenor Bernard Chan will also join the move to donate HK$250,000 to the Hong Kong Council of Social Services – where he serves as chairman.
