Representative image (Picture credit: AP)Farage ‘Exposes’ Starmer’s ‘Islamophobia Law In Britain’ Bid Amid Showdown In US House | WatchLONDON: A British Sikh organisation has threatened to take legal action against the UK government over a potential new definition of Islamophobia and the decision to appoint a working group to develop one, pointing out that any government-backed definition risks discriminating against other faiths. The Network of Sikh organisations (NSO), an umbrella body for Sikhs in the UK, has sent a pre-action letter to communities secretary Steve Reed, raising concerns over the impact of any definition on Sikhs and on freedom of religion and speech in Britain. The anti-Muslim hatred/Islamophobia working group was set up in March 2025 to develop a non-statutory definition of Islamophobia to provide the UK government and other relevant bodies with a greater understanding of prejudice against Muslims. The working group received a response to the call for evidence from the NSO. “The concerns they raised have informed the work,” a source said. “Any proposed definition must be compatible with the right to freedom of speech. That includes the right to … insult religions.”A MHCLG spokesperson said, “No decisions on a definition have been made, and we will not accept any definition which damages freedom of speech or discriminates against religious communities.”

International students who placed their faith – and invested substantial funds – in UCL recently found themselves in bureaucratic limbo. Many had waited weeks for the crucial Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) document needed to apply for a UK student visa. And there is already growing negative sentiment around UK visa and admissions bottlenecks. In fact, most education agents think the US is no longer welcoming to international students. If UK universities want to remain magnets for global talent, the government must be clear that the country is open for international students and stop moving the goalposts.

We've dismantled criminal networks at every level from street-level thieves to international organised crime groups exporting tens of thousands of stolen devices each year." UK police may have knocked down an international gang suspected of smuggling up to 40,000 stolen mobile phones from the UK to China over the past year. The investigation was reportedly triggered after a victim successfully traced a single stolen iPhone . The Metropolitan Police described the effort as the UK's largest ever operation against phone thefts, resulting in the arrest of 18 suspects and the discovery of more than 2,000 stolen devices. Authorities estimate that the group may be responsible for exporting as many as half of all phones stolen in London, where most mobile thefts occur in the UK.

BRITS are delaying seeking treatment for cancer due to long NHS waiting times - even if they have symptoms, according to a study. Palantir co-founder Alex Karp has called Palantir’s systems “crucial” to Israeli military operations. ”We covered the Lavender AI technology here: Lavender: the First AI Genocide Device – Bella Caledonia. I wrote about Lavender last year:Lavender was developed by the Israel Defense Forces’ elite intelligence division, Unit 8200. It saved a lot of time.”Just as Palestinians are dehumanised by the rhetoric around the conflict, the technology furthers this dehumanisation. People become ‘targets’ and the technology is seen as simply a mechanism for efficiency and time-saving in the process of killing.
