“I’m not going to lie,” Mitchell said with a sheepish smile. I mean, if there’s any indication, was passing up a wide-open dunk. … We all have those moments, but I apologize to Cav fans, to my teammates. And that’s why I didn’t get it because I go do something selfish. It wasn’t selfless, like I’ve been preaching myself.” -via ESPN / November 14, 2024

NEW YORK — Veteran journalist Chris Wallace is exiting CNN three years after joining from Fox News. “Chris Wallace is one of the most respected political journalists in the news business with a unique track record across radio, print, broadcast television, cable television and streaming,” CNN Chairman and Chief Executive Mark Thompson said in a statement Monday. Major cost-cutting is expected across media organizations following the 2024 presidential election. Wallace was expected to be a cost-cutting target. His two weekend programs, “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” and “The Chris Wallace Show,” are modest performers in the ratings for the network.

Note: originally published in Appendix B of Modern Marxism: A Guide for Christians in a Woke New World . For such reasons, critics of Marxism and neo-Marxism are generally wrong, despite their efforts to provide primary source documentation. Nearly two centuries after Marx lived, scholars of Marxism continue debating the details of what Marx himself believed—let alone, different neo-Marxists. The second and third claims likewise suggest that only people who already wear Marxist worldview “glasses” are enlightened enough not to critique Marxist perspectives. A repeatedly attempted construction project that always starts with a faulty foundation will fail every time—easily harming people in the process.

Matt Gaetz Faces Tough Opposition For Attorney General Bid Republican Senators Question Gaetz's Qualifications Amid Controversial Past and AllegationsPresident-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Matt Gaetz as attorney general has ignited intense debates within the Republican party and across the political spectrum, raising eyebrows and concerns over the controversial Florida representative's qualifications and moral standing to head the Justice Department. Senators Lisa Murkowski from Alaska and Susan Collins from Maine articulated their doubts clearly; Murkowski stated, "I don’t think it is a serious nomination for the attorney general. We need to have a serious attorney general, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to look at somebody who is serious." Critics contend Gaetz’s presence as attorney general could signal the normalization of controversial figures within leadership positions. Meanwhile, the Attorney General's role—overseeing substantial operations within the federal government—calls for accountability and decorum, both of which have been brought to question with Gaetz’s nomination.

Two thrillers with literary antecedents — "Cross" on Prime Video and "The Day of the Jackal" on Peacock — premiered Thursday. Their plots are essentially straightforward — somebody wants to kill somebody, somebody else wants to stop them — but stuffed with complications and characters that can at times muddy specific goals and motivations. That "Cross" is a serial killer series is not out of line with the Patterson oeuvre. The authorities are lazily blaming the death on suicide or an accidental overdose, but Cross, who knew the victim, smells murder. ———'CROSS'Rating: TV-MAHow to watch: Prime Video———'THE DAY OF THE JACKAL'Rating: TV-MAHow to watch: Peacock———©2024 Los Angeles Times.

"That's the last song I wrote for the album," Ballerini says on a recent morning in a sunny West Hollywood hotel suite. After years of screwed-tight Nashville songcraft, Ballerini achieved a more conversational aspect on "Rolling Up the Welcome Mat" that carries through to the new album. In 2017, when she was 24, Ballerini married Morgan Evans, an Australian country singer she'd met when the two co-hosted an awards show in Brisbane. For Ballerini, the liberation was sufficient to drop an F-bomb in one tune — hardly a given in country music. According to Ballerini, "Cowboys Cry Too" is "one of the two most country radio-friendly songs I've ever put out."

The New York Times has introduced the next title coming to its Games catalog following Wordle's continued success -- and it's all about math. In Digits, players are presented with a target number that they need to match. Players will get a five-star rating if they match the target number exactly, a three-star rating if they get within 10 of the target, and a one-star rating if they can get within 25 of the target number. So play Digits while you can, as The New York Times may move on from the project if it doesn't get the response it is hoping for. Digits' beta is available to play for free now on The New York Times Games' website
