Trump Stirs Controversy At Coachella Rally Former President's comments spark backlash amid dark rhetoric and aggressive crowd interactionsCOACHELLA, Calif. — Amid chants and the crackling energy typical of his campaign rallies, former President Donald Trump took the stage on October 12, 2024, at Coachella, California, notorious for its music festival but now pivoting to political fervor. Attendees at the rally braved soaring temperatures—nearly 100 degrees—sharing tales of their unwavering support for Trump. Trump’s rally was rich with theatricality and crowd interaction, typical of his past events. The Coachella event represented an aggressive strategy by Trump’s campaign to encroach upon areas traditionally viewed as Democratic strongholds. At the same time, Trump’s rhetoric has often faded from outright policies to symbolic gestures and theatrical exchanges.

To get what you want, try closing your mouth. The question mark trickWithout pauses, we’re generally worse speakers , swerving into tangents or stumbling over sounds. Ask one question out loud, then draw a big question mark in the air with your finger—silently. “That question mark is there to help you live through that fraught moment of, ‘I really should keep talking,’” Hoeppner says. At a cocktail party or in the boardroom, you can subtly trace a question mark by your side or in your pocket to force a pause.

The Trump campaign taps Lara Trump to encourage voters to vote early and by mail Earlier this year, the RNC co-chair voiced a robocall falsely alleging massive fraud occurred in the 2020 election due to mail ballots. Last month, at a rally in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Trump disparaged early voting, and promoted it, in the same breath. … Whether you vote early, absentee, by mail or in person, we’re going to protect the vote.”The Republican parties in Arizona and Nevada also tapped Lara Trump to voice robocalls promoting early and mail voting, despite previously echoing her father-in-law’s rhetoric on early voting. “So, get out there, encourage others to vote early and remind them just how critical this election is. When we vote, we win.”Lara Trump encourages Nevada voters to vote early and by mail The Nevada Republican Party tapped Lara Trump to encourage Nevadans to vote early and by mail.

Capitals Stumble With Season Opener Loss To Devils Despite early lead and strong performances, Capitals fall short against Devils at home openerThe Washington Capitals launched their 2024-25 NHL season with much anticipation, only to stumble out of the gate with a 5-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils during their home opener at Capital One Arena. The Devils quickly countered, showcasing their speed and skill which the Capitals struggled to match. Paul Cotter then took advantage of the Capitals' defensive lapses to make it 2-1 before the first period ended. The penalty kill, which held the Devils scoreless during four opportunities, also drew some praise from both Carbery and players alike. Overall, the Capitals' season opener taught them valuable lessons about readiness and the importance of communication on the ice.

The news, variously reported, is still fairly new and yet to be confirmed by Ukrainian authorities. Nevertheless if the Ukrainian F-16s have indeed tallied their first kill of a Russian fighter bomber then it is great news worth celebrating. Until this news, Ukraine has had seemingly no answer to the marauding Su-34s and their infernal cargo. And to make it even more galling the Russians have now resorted to raining their glide bombs on innocent civilians far removed from the front lines. Today’s shoot down of an Su-34, reportedly about 30 miles from the front lines hopefully puts Russian pilots on notice ... not only do you need to worry about Patriot batteries but now the F-16 might get ya, too.

With less than a month to go until the presidential election, “Saturday Night Live” pit Democrats against Republicans in a “Family Feud” sketch on its latest episode. Rudolph’s Harris and Samberg’s Emhoff were quick to get the top two answers on the board, answering “gun” and “second gun,” respectively. But “SNL” boss Lorne Michaels had been open about the show’s political plans prior to the start of the season, now three episodes deep. “You can’t lecture the audience, which most of politics is now, people lecturing the audience. We’re first and foremost a comedy show.”Ariana Grande returned as host for Saturday’s new episode, with musical guest Stevie Nicks.

“It was their shared strategy to attack Israel,” one analyst said. The Post also spoke to Israeli officials at other agencies that were not involved in acquiring the documents, who independently assessed that they were genuine. But, in the months preceding the attack, Hamas envisioned going much further, a planning document suggests. The letters were found in January in Sinwar’s command bunker in Khan Younis, Israeli officials said. The documents obtained by The Post include detailed notes from meetings where Hamas officials apparently discussed routine governmental responsibilities and expenditures, such as sanitation and fuel shortages.
