Morocco and the UAE have formed a collaboration that aims to invest in the construction of the Africa-Atlantic gas pipeline project. The Africa-Atlantic gas pipeline will transport gas from Nigeria to North Africa and ultimately to Europe. The project aims to enhance economic integration and energy security in West Africa. Nigeria’s energy minister, Ekperikpe Ekpo, has announced that construction work on the pipeline is scheduled to begin next year. Morocco and the UAE have agreed to expedite the implementation of all signed investment projects within three months.

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — UPDATE: Power has been restored to Duke Energy customers in Durham and Moore counties as of early Sunday afternoon. Previous story:Over 2,000 Duke Energy customers in Durham County are already without power Sunday morning as severe weather begins to move through central North Carolina. According to Duke Energy’s power outage map, 2,278 customers in Durham County are in the dark as of 11:50 a.m. Current estimates say power will be restored around 4 p.m.Further south, over 1,500 in Moore County are also without power late Sunday morning. According to the latest estimates from Duke Energy’s site, power is expected to be restored there around 3:30 p.m.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — It’s been 2 years since Huntsville city leaders approved one of the largest road projects in Rocket City history. Known as the Northern Bypass, the project is part of a multi-layered roadway initiative that’ll eventually include an eastern and southern bypass. Huntsville city council members recently voted in favor of bringing in an engineering company to help accelerate the project. “This is one of the first steps that will be taken towards the initial completion of the Northern Bypass,” said Huntsville City Councilman Bill Kling. “If Huntsville is going to continue to prosper, we’ve got to do something about our traffic flow.”The Northern Bypass is a multi-million dollar project, which will create a circular like roadway concept in the center of the city.

The Australian iron-ore mining company Genmin has submitted to the Gabonese government a request for 15-year permit to commence iron ore drilling project at Baniaka field in the central African country. Joe Ariti, the Chief Executive Officer of the company met with the minister of Mining of the African country to discuss the application that follows positive results of the pre-feasibility studies released in November 2022. According to Joe Ariti, production will to reach up to 5 million tons in the early stages is expected to then increase every five years by 5 million tons. Baniaka Iron Ore Project is located in south-east Gabon and comprises the Baniaka and Baniaka West exploration permits, which cover a total area of 881km. Genmin, aside from Baniaka, is owner of iron ore Bakoumba Project and Bitam project located in the north of the African country.
