Some of Britain’s largest fund managers have spoken out against plans for fast fashion giant Shein to float in London. London is currently vying with New York for the blockbuster £53billion float, which would see Shein slip straight into the blue-chip FTSE 100. But UK money managers, including Aviva Investors, Schroders and M&G, may turn their backs on the listing over concerns about workers’ rights at the Chinese fashion giant. Speaking out: Some of Britain’s largest fund managers have spoken out against plans for Shein to float in LondonThe UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association, said it does not want London to ‘become a listing place of last resort for companies with poor human rights records’. Barcelona defend Women’s Champions League title with win over Lyon in finalBy Rachel Steinberg, PASecond-half strikes by Ballon d’Or winners Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas inspired Barcelona’s Women’s Champions League title defence and a maiden quadruple with a 2-0 victory over Lyon in Spain. It was the first time Barca, fielding a line-up that included England midfielder Keira Walsh and a particularly in-form Lucy Bronze, had ever beaten the French champions in five times of asking, doing so in front of a record-breaking crowd of 50,827 for a Women’s Champions League final at Bilbao’s San Mames Stadium. Emma Hayes had hoped to conclude her 12 years at Chelsea with victory in this final, the one trophy that eluded the new United States manager, before her move across the pond. But the Blues came up just short of their second Champions League showpiece, and it was Hayes’ hotly-tipped potential successor, Sonia Bompastor, whose Lyon side could not find their way past Chelsea’s last-four executioners for what would have been a ninth title in their history. It was a rousing ovation that greeted the 30-year-old when she stepped out onto the pitch in the third minute of stoppage time, a sound quickly upgraded to a roar when she found the back of the net three minutes later to cap off the victory.

To do it, they’ll need an 80-minute performance and the bench Leo Cullen has picked suggests that they’re keen to avoid the late fades that have happened in big games. For Toulouse, there’s been a clear focus on discipline. Last season, Leinster scored 21 points while they had men in the sin-bin and they’ve conceded fewer penalties this season than today’s opponents. Kinghorn’s goal-kicking will be a worry for Toulouse fans and Leinster need Ross Byrne to have the game of his life. Verdict: Leinster 24 Toulouse 31

But I might have a marginally above average number of anecdotes seeing as how I’m obsessed with litter. They’re money. In our local litter-picking group, we do clean-ups along the canal near us and yes, there’s less stuff. I’ve got over the embarrassment of bringing cans to the shop. Whereas bringing cans at lunchtime to the Londis, it looks like you drank them that morning in your pyjamas while watching Bluey.

Aoife Walsh is a commissioning editor with New Island. Then at a certain point, I thought I would like to work with books or be an editor. Then I came home and worked with O’Brien Press as managing editor and I was with them for just over a year-and-a-half. Then this job in New Island came up. I’m a commissioning editor but I probably split my time between that and being a managing editor.
