However, there was a crew member I knew years ago, and she had sex with the captain in the seat while he was flying. There are cabin crew who don’t really care as much, but I love the flight, the destinations and the passengers. They have a few drinks, then before you know it, they’re drunk, and assuming you’re going to look after them. You already know they’re going to be causing trouble, they’re going to be messy. I was on a flight once where it turned out the captain had gone out with two of the cabin crew.

Micheál Martin hits out at ‘eurosceptic’ Irish MEPsBy Gráinne Ní Aodha, PAThe Tánaiste has hit out at eurosceptic Irish MEPs and said it was time to “push back” against “destructive” anti-EU forces. Micheál Martin said Ireland had become known as a country that has benefited from European Union membership, but which also regularly elects politicians to the parliament who “undermine” the union. Ireland has 13 MEPs, with all five Fine Gael MEPs in the EPP group, two Fianna Fáil MEPs in the Renew group, two Green MEPs in the Green alliance group, and the four remaining MEPs in the Left group. They speak out consistently against the European Union. The vast majority of the Irish people believe the European Union is good for Ireland.

The scars left by the war still ran deep – between the Union and the Confederate states, 620,000 combatants lost their lives. To put that in perspective, if 2% of today’s U.S. population perished in war, that would be 6.5 million people. It seems to be in our nature, no matter the society in which we live, to remember lives lost in war. There has been a debate raging in recent years about whether humanity is innately warlike and whether we are, in fact, becoming less warlike as our societies become more sophisticated and interconnected. World War I and World War II claimed almost 522,000 American lives between the two of them and more than 100 million people around the world.
