Liberia: NACSUL Rubbishes Allegations against Minister Kemayah
NACSUL further observed that the coordinated anti-Kemayah campaign is the work of detractors, who bend on living in the pass where transparency and accountability was lacking. Monrovia – Mr. John Hilary Tubman, son of former President William V.S. An FPA reporter on the scene of the crime observed the room of Mr. Tubman in disarray with beddings and clothings scattered. Joecilia Tubman, niece of the late John Tubman, said that, “If the police found foul play, it is just somebody around us that we know already. But recent exchanges between the NAC and Chairman Bility show that the matter is far from being over. Since Mr. Bility assumed the Chairmanship of the LP, the party has not been able to politically sail smoothly. Martin Kollah, who was the choice of Mr. Bility, was elected as the new Chief Scribe of the party. StigmatizationShe pointed out that victims of SGBV in Liberia continue to suffer from stigmatization in their communities. Growing casesShe pointed out that there currently exist a growing number of SGBV cases, especially in the rural parts of the country. Minister Gaye noted that the lack of one-stop-center and hospitals to speed up cases of rape in some counties make it difficult to combat against SGBV. He said violence against women and girls, especially rape show not be compromised or downplayed by anyone. He encouraged Liberians and others to follow-up on rape cases from the reporting stage to its logical conclusion.

Liberia: CDC-USA Leadership Election Results Upheld
“Of late, though, the party’s topmost intellectual auxiliary, the CDC USA-chapter, has been beset with myriad challenges ranging from apathy to poor leadership,” a statement from CDC-USA noted. It was also an outcome reflective of the will and aspirations of all partisans of the CDC-USA Chapter, the CDC said. Accordingly, due to internal rumblings, Mr. Luogon and his leadership could not lead the party to elections in the constitutionally mandated timeframe. Team Manneh George challenged the announced results on grounds that 78 delegates were accredited, but that the results totaled 84 votes. It also recommended that the CDC USA Constitution be reviewed to strengthen the provisions relative to leadership positions and the election of the chairperson of the convention.

Fubbi Henries: “Stop Mixing Football with Politics”
MONROVIA – Fubbi Henries of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) has warned the Liberia Football Association take politics out of football. Fubbi accused officials of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) current district tournament of having a political undertone. Fubbi told FrontPageAfrica that politicians, mainly district lawmakers from the ruling CDC are using the tournament to score political grades. He alleged that the LFA wrote various lawmakers in every district to manage the district teams, something the ANC supporter described as “unacceptable”. He, however, frowned on District 9 lawmaker Frank Saah Foko for allowing the district team to use his (Rep. Foko)home as dressing ground and other activities.

Liberia: COVID-19 Vaccines Extend to 2076 Inmates in Prisons across the Country
Monrovia – The Bureau of Correction and Rehabilitation in partnership with the Ministry of Health has announced plans to vaccinate about 2,076 inmates that are in prisons across the country. According to him, when there is a health concern in the country, the prisons facilities like other areas need to be protected from such menace. “Just as we have the largest population to be protected, we feel that the prison’s population needs to be protected,” Kwaidah said. He added: “Getting vaccines to the prison is the equal right of the inmates and correctional officers. “Out of the update of our 174 inmates, 114 have responded to the vaccination including 15 officers out of 31 prison officers.

For her part, speaking at the awareness, CRS-Liberia Program Manager Jessie Bennett Program Managerunderstandng gratitude over responses of participants at the awareness exercise. “We, at the CRS have some funding that allows us to do other projects, so we took some of the funding to support the menstrual hygiene project,” Madam Bennett started. KOKOYAH, Bong County – MNG Gold, the Turkish Mining Company in Kokoyah District, Bong County has concluded a one-day stakeholders meeting with residents of affected communities in Gbarta, Boinsen District. The meeting, according to the company’s community liaison officer, Keith Gboe, was aimed at acquainting citizens on the status of the company’s previous Corporate Social Responsibility projects. Gboe said the meeting was also intended to provide clarity on issues pertaining to the company’s Kokoyah Concession Operations and the Memorandum of Understanding. Gbanken also said the company has also rehabilitated the10 kilometer Dean Town to Borbor Fire Town in electoral district two. The meeting brought together residents from diverse backgrounds, including youths, women organizations and local leaders of Kokoyah Statutory District.

Brewerville – A local nongovernmental organization Center for Peace and Education has joined the rest of the world in recognition of the International Day of Peace through a grand parade and indoor program spreading messages of peace. The World International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nation General Assembly to be celebrated every September 21. During the assessment both Senators praised Minister Wilson and his team for an extra ordinary job. He said lot has changed with limited funding provided to Minister Wilson.
