According to the medical online journal- Medicinenet, a pacemaker surgery is generally a minor surgery that may take around 1-2 hours to complete.

They were re-elected on May 18, 2021 when the Liberian Senate conducted its leadership elections. ALJA says it opposes the re-elections of the senators to positions of trust in the Liberian Senate, because of their shady public records. The Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act targets perpetrators of corruption and serious human rights abuse. However, neither the Senator nor the leadership of the Liberian Senate heeded the Association’s advice.

Not once in the entire statement did Mr. Cummings cite any evidence of corruption other than raving about “rogues” or “stealing”. Where there have been probable cause to act against impropriety, the President has done so – including prosecuting his officials. That a leader of a political party will regurgitate word on the street just shows the level of despair. Regarding suggestions from some quarters about a War and Economic Crimes Court, the government’s position on the matter remains the same: It is a sovereign decision that the Liberian people should make. This has since been the position of the Liberian government expressed by President Weah to the United Nations and the Liberian Legislature.

GANTA, Nimba County – The Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) of Liberia with support from the United Nations Development Program(UNDP) and Partners, holds the third and final regional validation workshop on Liberia’s Nationally Determined Contribution-NDC for stakeholders from five counties of Liberia. Those sectors under review for the revised NDC include Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCPs), Green Corridor, Energy, Waste, Health, Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Coastal zones and Transport/Infrastructure. At the close of the event, regional stakeholders welcomed the dialogue and engagement and unanimously endorsed the revised NDC, including the sectoral targets for mitigation and adaptation. Endorsing the draft revised NDC and representing all superintendents of the five counties, the superintendent of Grand Gedeh County, Kai Garlo Farley applauded all the partners for including their expertise and ideas in the validation process of the NDC revision. The NDC validation exercise has been marred by training of stakeholders to ensure that regional actors understand the NDC and have the capacity to implement climate actions in their respective activities.

The workshop kick-starts activities for the EU co-funded project “Securing Land Rights for Women and Rural Communities in Southeastern Liberia”. The project is in support of women and rural communities’ Land Rights in Grand Gedeh, River Gee, and Sinoe counties in the Southeast of Liberia. Land rights are vital for economic justice for women, young people and communities who depend primarily on agriculture and the forest for their livelihoods. Before he had made the pronouncement of the scholarship, he, on behalf of the UL global alumni association, presented to the UL Administration, several pieces of 44 assorted educational materials, including microscopes, projectors, and specialized books to the university. Responding, Dr. Julius S. Nelson, President of the UL, expressed his administration’s gratitude to the UL Alumni Association. Dr. Nelson reminisce how few years ago, when he was in the Department of Student Services, he approached the alumni association asking it for a marching band and jerseys. According to Dr. Nelson, it will be wonderful that every year they are going to be looking forward to receiving gifts from the global alumni association.

According to Minister Cooper, agricultural must now shift from its current stage to a more advanced level that will promote human development. Speaking Tuesday at a forum for smallholder farmers and fishers, Minister Cooper said doing so must ensure access to safe and nutritious food for all. “The program is on track with discussion around the world on ensuring safe and notorious food,” Minister Cooper averred. She at the same time expressed delight over Liberia’s partnership with the European Union and others to ensure food security in Liberia. Meanwhile, Kpadeh noted that despite this initiative, Liberia must now move from smallholder farming to a larger scale.

Sacramento —Three former leaders of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) are applauding the United States Embassy in Liberia for strongly condemning the recent election of Senator Prince Y. Johnson as Chair of the Liberian Senate Committee on Defense and Intelligence. According to a press release, the former PUL leaders, Isaac D.E. Lawmakers in Liberia have a duty to responsibly demonstrate their commitment to the Liberian Constitution and personal moral rectitude as examples for a country which remains very divided,” the former PUL officials said. The Government of Liberia must refrain from being a “roadblock” to Constitutional protections and instead, seek judicial relief, for matters which it perceives injurious to its functions. The media and critical voices are not a threat to Liberia,” the statement concluded.
