Tawa Tamba touches the exact place in Foya City where ULIMO killed her sister in June 1993, allegedly under the order of Alieu Kosiah, who is now on trial for war crimes in Switzerland. Kosiah is the first accused Liberian war criminal to face trial for war crimes committed in the Liberian civil war. “I want him to be killed because he killed my sister,” Tamba says fighting back tears and rage. Those three years it controlled Foya, ULIMO committed some of the worst atrocities in Liberia’s 14-year civil conflict. Mary Ndiminin, widow of Saah Ndiminin ,who was killed and cannibalized by ULIMO rebels in Foya in 1993, cries in an interview.

It involves the assigning of young university graduates by the Ministry to the private mining company where they are given the chance to advance their experience in the technical and practical aspects of the mining profession. “My plan was to be a mining engineer; not just to go to school but to be a piratical mining engineer. So, with this job I am happy that I’m practicing my filed of studies,” says Fatumata Binta Barrie, 36, who is the only female amongst the four recently employed by Liberia’s first industrial gold mining company. Andrew Jusu Hina, 30, is a 2017 graduate of the University of Liberia who also worked briefly as a volunteer with the MME before he was also seconded at the mining company. Kollie assured that he and other engineers will continue giving support to young Liberian engineers to help them advance their professionalism.

African Goodwill Ambassador is an international body of Humanitarian service providers, excellent leaders, community developers, and Peace Ambassadors. The award ceremonies, according to several videos footage, was the biggest Humanitarian accolade in Africa judging from the previous 7 editions. In July of this year, Mrs. Pelham Raad called on well-meaning Liberians and philanthropists to help save the life of a five-month-old baby boy, Destiny Moore, who has been diagnosed with a heart and cervical spine problem.

Monrovia – The Inter-Ministerial Task Force on Technical and Vocational Education and Training has validated the National TVET Policy and operational plan intending to upgrade the sector. The theme for the validation of the National TVET Policy Review Report is “Creating Livelihood Opportunities through TVET”. Mr. Dukuly added that particular attention should be paid to the country’s context, including human development, economic activities, and labor market demands. “The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system in Liberia is still fragmented despite the formulation of the TVET policy in 2015,” Mr. Dukuly said. No law guarding TVET, fragmented system, and the failure to establish the Liberia TVET Commission he said are hindering the progress of TVET in Liberia.

HARPER, Maryland County – In Harper, the Reading Room serves 2 schools, the G.T. Established in the early 1920s, the George Tubman Brewer was built by the first Superintendent of Harper, Joseph Gibson. He expressed appreciation to KEEP Liberia and commended the organization on the work it has done in Maryland. Congo Town – Private security guards at the Unity Party headquarters where Senator Abraham Darius Dillon is expected to climax his political campaign have arrested a man identified as Patrick Ballah in possession of a single barrel gun and several rounds. He was booked by a female security guard at the entrance while trying to make his into the compound. When quizzed why he was in possession of firearm, he said it was for his personal protection. “I brought the arm so I can protect myself because my friend informed me that some guys were coming to attack me. Monrovia – President George M. Weah has strongly condemned a reported act of political violence which took place in Porkpar District, Grand Cape Mount County, ahead of Tuesday’s Senatorial elections. The President said the government will not condone such violent action by any group of citizens and political party. He was refering to reports that a convoy belonging to the opposition CPP Senatorial candidate in Grand Cape Mount County, Simeon Taylor, came under attack and two of his vehicles set ablaze after a tussle ensued between rival supporters of political parties. President Weah emphasized that elections are about the exercise of people’s democratic rights and should be void of any kind of violence. The President then warned that the Government will not hesitate in bringing to book any group of individuals who engages in acts of violence during and after the upcoming elections.
