Bob Sheriff (Unity Party), whose house and vehicle has been set ablaze allegedly by supporters of Senator Victor Watson, has told FrontPageAfrica that his house was shot at several times before it was set on fire. Rep. Sheriff could not tell FrontPageAfrica about the whereabouts of Mr. Taylor, neither could he say anything about his well-being. According to him, being that they know that Mr. Taylor would often lodge at his residence, they moved on his house and began firing at the house. He added, “When they started shooting at the house and my people called me, I asked all of them to leave the house before anyone gets hurt. He said, the Police Commander in the district informed that the problem was bigger and that he (Rep. Sheriff) needed to call the attention of national government.

MONROVIA – FrontPageAfrica has gathered that the campaign convoy of Mr. Simeon Taylor, the opposition Collaborating Political Parties candidate for the senatorial election has been set ablaze in Grand Cape Mount County. According to sources, Mr. Taylor’s campaign was invaded allegedly by some supporters of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) which resulted into a tussle between supporters of the two political parties and led to the burning of Mr. Taylor’s vehicles. According to reports, Rep. Bob Sheriff of the district, who attempted calming the situation house was also set ablaze. FrontPageAfrica has not been able to ascertain the status of Mr. Taylor yet. FrontPageAfrica has also not been able to get comments from Mr. Watson or any member of his campaign team yet.

Margibi – Catholic Religious Group of Priests and Brothers have dedicated its educational institution in Liberia, the Xavier Jesuit School. The school has modern classroom facilities, bathrooms dinning hall and Libraries for students from nursery to elementary level. Bishop Ziegler stated that the dedication of the school is a dream come true for him. According to the principal of the School Rev. Oodo further explained that the Jesuit Order intends to transform the entire Wehn Town Community within 10 years period, through education and other social services.

ALIEU KOSIAH: “I am a founding member of Ulimo,” an emotional Kosiah told the court under grilling by lawyers for the victims who brought the case. Kosiah told the three-judge panel presiding over the case that Ulimo was formed out of late President Samuel K. Doe’s Armed Forces of Liberia. Victims lawyers’ had requested the court postpone the trial to a later date when the victims and witnesses could be present in the court. Additionally, the judging panel rejected the plaintiff’s lawyer’s request to expand Kosiah’s crimes to crimes against humanity in addition to war crimes. The case before a three-judge panel at the Federal Criminal Court in Bellinzona is a first for Switzerland under a 2011 law allowing prosecution for war crimes committed anywhere.

MONROVIA – A Liberian humanitarian based in the United States of America, Ebenezer Norman, is providing free education for 600 children – twice the number he intended the school to host. The school which he constructed under a self-sponsored initiative in 2018 in Johnsonville was intended to host 300 students but is one of the few education facilities in the area. His first venture to provide free education for Liberian children was in 2016 when he constructed a school in Bensonville which was later demolished by Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s regime due to a land dispute. According to him, his goal is alleviating poverty using the theory of change Education, Entrepreneurship, and Agriculture (EEA). “I have found that education, agriculture, and entrepreneurship are the three main factors that could help lift people out of poverty in Liberia,” he says.

Bellinzona – Alieu Kosiah let out a surprise outburst in his first day in court Thursday, proclaiming his innocence as his trial for war crimes got underway. Alain Werner, the head of Civitas Maxima, is one of the plaintiff’s lawyers in the court. Emeraux has investigated scenes of alleged war crimes that are also in the indictment against Kosiah. Ten years after the Truth and Reconciliation Commission made its recommendation for the establishment of a War Crimes Court, Liberia is yet to prosecute any alleged war criminals. While Kosiah served as commander of the ULIMO, mass atrocities were committed by the ULIMO fighters.

At the moment, Liberia’s Alien and Nationality law forbids dual citizenship. Speaking further Mr. Wettee, who is currently back home in Liberia, disclosed that he had come basically to urge his fellow Liberians to vote ‘yes’ to all the proposals especially the one on dual citizenship. “We are advocating for a yes vote to all the proposals, including the Dual Citizenship, on the Referendum,” Mr. Wettee stressed. “President Weah from his end, he declared his support for dual citizenship in his first year. He was very optimistic that Liberian voters are going to vote ‘yes’ to the referendum especially the one on dual citizenship.
