Monrovia – LISCR FC have confirmed the departure of striker Sam Kollie, who joined the club in 2018. “We can confirm the departure of Sam Kollie after the expiration of his contract. LISCR signed the forward from Fassell FC as a free agent on a three-year deal in February of 2018. Prior to joining LISCR FC, Kollie was among the best strikers on the local scene for years. The 26 year-old frontman helped Fassell FC win the 2014 Liberian FA Cup and represented the “Soccer Missionaries” in the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup.

ABUJA – The ECOWAS Ministerial Coordination Committee on Transport, Logistics and Trade has made recommendations on the harmonized and gradual re-opening of land, air and sea borders for restoring cross border economic activities, especially for movement of humanitarian personnel, medical supplies and equipment and essential goods in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. They also held that the reopening has become imperative in view of the need to revive the economies of ECOWAS member countries. Following a review of the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic in respective Member States, a third phase of opening air and land borders to other countries with low and controlled levels (according to WHO classifications) of COVID-19 contamination rates will be pursued. The Ministers further called for accurate information sharing on opening-up measures among Member States in the spirit of solidarity, collective self-reliance and inter-State co- operation through bilateral and multilateral consultations. The Ministerial Coordinating Committee, chaired by Nigeria’s Aviation Minister Senator Hadi Sirika, made a plea for “strong and determined support for the ownership and implementation of the guidelines” once adopted by the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.

She was subsequently appointed Acting Chair of the Commission after President Weah withdrew the nomination of the then Chairman-designate, Cllr. The former President’s move was an attempt to bring some balance to the elections commission. Mr. Bloh referenced Section 2.5 of the Elections Law which prohibits anyone on the Board of Commissioners at the Elections Commission from being a political party affiliate.

But their journeys were cut short when they were arrested by police and “deported to the desert of Niger” – the IOM camp. Alieu Bility is regarded as the leader for the stranded Liberian migrants in the IOM camp. When asked about the 62 stranded migrants in Niger, Mr. Logan said the LRRC “don’t have enough information on them” and that he will contact the Liberia Immigration Service to get further clarity.

As part of the Fisheries 2010 regulation and consistent with NaFAA’s 2010 Act, all fishing vessels licensed to fish in Liberia’s territorial waters must present a ‘CATCH PLAN’ which will be in line with the NaFAA’s Fisheries Management Plan (FMP). However, NaFAA’s remain focus and committed to providing more fresh fish on our domestic market so as to eradicate food insecurity. The clinic was expected to ease pressure on the Palala Clinic, which is about ten minutes’ drive from Baila Town. Anthony Sheriff, Bong County’s assistant superintendent for development, said the county does not have money to renovate the clinic and replace the windows and doors. The clinic was one of the projects approved during the 2012-2013 county development sitting. Bong County Superintendent Esther Walker said the county is strapped for cash.

The authorities of the iron concession company said the staff member has not been at work since March 2020 when the schools closed. BUCHANAN ─ ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) informs the public that a member of its school staff in Yekepa who had prior health issues and died recently in Monrovia, was tested (posthumously) for the Coronavirus and the result came back positive. The staff member has not been at work since March 2020 when the schools closed. Currently none of the staff or family members are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 and the family is in isolation. ArcelorMittal Liberia continues to enforce strict adherence to all COVID-19 preventive measures released by the Government of Liberia and instituted additional measures for its staff and those accessing its concession areas.

The IRCL launched a COVID-19 project with focus on “Faith Based Action to combat COVID-19 in Liberia” on May 13, at its headquarters on Clay Street, Monrovia. IRCL is a conglomeration of the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) and the National Muslim Council of Liberia (NMCL). The statement added that the training will be carried out by a team from the Ministry of Health, NPHIL and IRCL’s project management team. According to the IRCL, the project also includes 21 other senior staff, eight county coordinators and five project management team members. Monrovia – The Liberia Kickball Federation has accused the Chief Patron of Sports, George M. Weah of marginalizing his federation since he took over as President of the nation. The national team of Liberia was given one of the 73 seated buses donated to thegovernment by the Indian government and presented 300 bags of 25 kg rice and 7,000 masks to the national team. “The last seven years the Liberia Kickball Federation has not received a dime from the Government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports,” he said. He noted that last year US$1,050 was approved in the budget for Kickball but the money was not disbursed the association. He disclosed that the bus that was given to the LFA was for all national teams in the country and not only the football national team.
