The Executive Mansion Press Corps (EMPC) has elected a new corps of leaders to steer the affairs of the organization for the period of three years. He told the group that his office will work in line with the Chief of Protocol office to ensure that the leadership or members of the Executive Mansion Press have a face-to-face interaction with President George Manneh Weah. Liberia: Coalition of Political Parties Decry ‘Growing State of Insecurity’
Henry Costa and Rep. Yekeh Kolubah, both fierce critics of President George Weah have committed no crimes in Liberia. Ex-Rebel Commander Accused of War Crimes Rearrested in France
He is accused of conscription of child soldiers, slavery, murder, cannibalism, and other war crimes and crimes against humanity. Four other high-ranking Liberians have been accused of or indicted for war crimes in relation to the country’s civil war. Martina Johnson, former head of the NPFL’s artillery unit, is under house arrest while awaiting trial in Belgium, where she was arrested in September 2014 for war crimes. A London court, in December last year, dismissed a war crimes case against Agnes Reeves Taylor, the ex-wife of former President Charles Taylor. The father is serving a 50-year sentence in Britain for war crimes committed in Sierra Leone.

MONROVIA – Senate Pro-Tempore Albert Chie says part of the legislative agenda for the 54th legislature, specifically the Senate, would be to review several provisions of the Constitution of the country, including laws surrounding peaceful gathering or protest. According to the Senate’s administrative head, as Senators, they will work on several statutes by providing clarity on certain articles of the Constitution. “The Senate will also look at legislation on the printing of currency which has become very political with all citizens becoming financial experts. We will be looking at the Code of Conduct, we will be looking at tenure in the executive and we will be looking at privilege of a lawmaker,” he said. “The Senate received from you a communication requesting our input on the implementation of the TRC recommendation, the Senate plenary has asked the leadership of the Senate to review the request and revert to plenary.
