Libya and Malta discussed the intended route and landing points for the planned electric interconnection between the two countries. The meeting, according to the Tripoli government, reviewed the technical report of the field study of the line’s route and landing points prepared by the Maltese side. The most important points contained in the report that concluded with determining the route of the line were also clarified. To discuss Libyan-Italian electrical interconnection proposalsThe Rome meeting, REAoL said, came in continuation of the discussions related to the Libyan-Italian electrical interconnection proposal. The Chairman of the Electrical Interconnection Committee, REAoL had added, stressed the necessity of intensifying the holding of these meetings and invited the Italian side to attend the next meeting that will be arranged in Libya.

Egypt Backs Intra-Libyan Reconciliation Without Foreign Interference: Deputy FM

Indians living in Malta as likely to have a tertiary education as EU migrants
Nearly half the Indians over the age of 15 who lived in Malta in 2021 declared having a tertiary level of education, Census data shows. This means that nearly 60% of Indians living in Malta three years ago had continued their studies beyond secondary level. Only 5% of Indians living in Malta had a primary level of education. Indians living in Malta were slightly more likely to have a tertiary education than Italians living here (45%) and slightly less than those hailing from the EU (50%). In fact, over 35% of Filipinos and Libyans living in Malta declared having a tertiary level of education.

EU’s Rebuild Project discusses with Libya new cooperation in marine fishing, environmental sanitation, capacity building, and scientific research
The EU’s Rebuild project is discussing with Libya ways to open new horizons of cooperation in the field of marine fishing, environmental sanitation, capacity building, and scientific research. The discussions took place last Sunday (4 February) between the Tripoli based Libyan government’s Minister of Local Government, Bader Aldeen Al-Tumi, with the European Union Ambassador, Nicola Orlando, the Italian Embassy’s Giacomo Grandesso, the representative of the Province of Trentino, and the General Coordinator of the Rebuild Project, Laurence Biasetto. The Rebuild project team presented an overview of the two projects proposed to be implemented in Libya, represented by the Fishing and Environmental Safety project funded by the European Union, stressing that the number of partner municipalities is 10, five of which are coastal municipalities.
