KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Pos Malaysia will resume road tax and driving licence renewals at all its post offices from Monday (Aug 9) by appointment.It said that customers can book an appointment through the Outlet Finder feature at www.pos.com.my or Pos Malaysia's mobile application starting Sunday (Aug 8), adding that the appointment was necessary to avoid overcrowding at their premises. "A customer is permitted to book only one appointment slot per day and perform a maximum of three transactions per appointment,” it said in the statement on Saturday (Aug 7).Pos Malaysia also urged customers to adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) such as wearing a face mask, checking body temperature, scanning of MySejahtera code and observing the one-metre physical distancing rule at the premises and avoid visiting its outlets if they were feeling unwell or experiencing Covid-19 symptoms.Customers can also extend their enquiries to AskPos on www.pos.com.my or via their Pos Malaysia mobile application.

Sweet little memories of childhood
Those childhood memories inspired Joyee Tan to start a business in February selling miniature keychains and earrings in the shape of keropok roda (wheel crackers), iced gem biscuits and fish-shaped biscuits. “The idea came about after my mum brought home some iced gem biscuits and a rush of childhood memories flashed through my mind. Tiny trinkets: Tan’s creations include keychains and earrings shaped like wheel crackers and iced gem biscuits. Then, I will bind it into an object using epoxy putty, AB silicon liquid, mould putty, shaper brushes and craft knives,” she added. Tan and her close friend Renee Wong, 23, also make other miniature food items like croissants, onigiri and kuih kapit (traditional love letters).

US Senate advances infrastructure bill, inches towards passage
WASHINGTON: The U.S. Senate voted to advance a US$1 trillion infrastructure package on Saturday but remained on a slow path toward passage with two Republicans openly opposing behind-the-scenes efforts to wrap up work on one of President Joe Biden's top priorities. Eighteen of 50 Senate Republicans voted to move the legislation forward, with Senators John Cornyn and Deb Fischer backing the package for the first time. But on Saturday evening, progress stalled on an agreement on amendments that could have allowed the Senate to speed up consideration of the legislation. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said the Senate would convene at noon ET (1600 GMT) on Sunday to resume consideration of the infrastructure bill. Without that agreement, the Senate will hold a next procedural vote on Sunday evening, a Senate Democratic aide said.
