PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): Investigations following complaints from users of the Covid-19 self-test kits sold at RM60 per unit at a pharmacy in Terengganu found that they were obtained from a company in Pahang which was not among the six approved to distribute and sell the test kits to the public. Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) said in a statement today an inspection at a pharmacy in Terengganu found that it had been tagged accordingly to allow consumers to make purchasing decisions based on the price displayed because the kits had yet to be listed as a controlled item. "KPDNHEP will submit the findings of this investigation to the responsible party, namely the Medical Device Authority (MDA) for further action as it is not under the jurisdiction of KPDNHEP," it added. The ministry also said consumers should be more careful when purchasing Covid-19 self-test kits in the market and refer to the official website of the MDA at https://portal.mda.gov.my/ to get a list of companies that have been approved to distribute and sell the test-kits.

The creation of fictitious revenue can take place in companies even prior to being listed on the stock exchange, and at times, continuing post-listing. The directors were charged with furnishing false statements to the stock exchange, as well as for making false statements in the prospectus. Two multiracial athletes, two high-profile roles: Rising NBA star Rui Hachimura carried the Japanese flag at the Olympics' opening ceremony. It has rekindled a debate on racial identity that points toward a particular and thorny question: What does it mean to be Japanese? "Those slandering Naomi-san also hurt me and others of mixed-race roots,” Isomoto said in a recent interview in Japanese from her home in Yokohama. Growing up with African roots, Isomoto was repeatedly reminded that she looked different. Oh participated in the Olympic torch relay last month at the Games' opening ceremony.

Like the writer, I was also declared as not eligible for BPR (Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat) even though I am a pensioner in the B40 group. I used to receive Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BRIM). I did not receive the aid for 2019 and 2020 despite filing multiple appeals with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) office in Teluk Intan. To be eligible for BPN, I either have to sell my shares or the company must be wound up. I wrote a letter to our prime minister to ask about the discrepancies in deciding who gets the cash aid.

Instead, the number of new Covid-19 cases with serious symptoms will be used with two other thresholds – vaccination rate and ICU occupancy – remaining the same, said the Finance Minister who is also NRP coordinating minister. While it is good to introduce the hospitalisation rate as a metric, it is equally important to continue disclosing the number of new Covid-19 cases daily even though over 98% of them have only mild or no symptoms. This is because the high number can be scary and those who fear contracting the coronavirus would try to stay home as much as possible. As such, it wouldn’t be a surprise if new cases of Covid-19 could still rise beyond the record high of 20,596 that was recorded on Thursday. I certainly hope this will not happen, but I fear it will if the political situation in the country remains unstable.

How to apply sunscreen:Use enough sunscreen to liberally cover all exposed areas, especially the face, nose, ears, feet and hands. If using a chemical sunscreen, it’s best to apply it 15 to 30 minutes before going outdoors to give it time to absorb. If the sunscreen irritates the skin, try a different brand or a mineral sunscreen with titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.
