Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has said that under the Social Protection Agenda, the Federal Government has accessed a World Bank confessional loan of US$750 million on behalf of 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT). A 50-year-old man, Henry Okeke, was on Wednesday, remanded at the Kirikiri Custodial Centre by a Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Yaba Area of Lagos State, for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a teenager (name withheld) in the Fola Agoro, Somolu area of the state. Magistrate Patrick Nwaka made the order after the defendant, who is facing two counts of rape preferred against him by the police, was brought before the court. The police prosecutor, Thomas Nurudeen, told the court that the incident happened in April 2023 at No. 9, Fatai Ade Street, Fola Agoro, in the Somolu area of Lagos. According to the prosecutor, the offence committed is punishable under Sections 141 and 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

Danmadami said the troops conducted patrols, raids, anti-illegal oil refining and swap buggies operations at different locations within Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers States. “Relatedly, the air component conducted series of air operation within the joint area of operation. “Notably, an air interdiction was conducted at Abacheke general area, observed to be active with illegal oil bunkering activities. “Consequently, the target was struck, destroying all illegal refining equipment at the location,” he added.

Oyo state government has confirmed 10,358 reported cases of COVID-19 out of which 202 are dead while 10,156 recovered. He said a total of 10,156 persons recovered from the virus, while 202 persons lost their lives in the state to the coronavirus. He added that a total of six confirmed cases were recorded in the state in 2023, and they have all recovered.
