They’ve won four consecutive games and will look to reach a five-game winning streak when they host the New Jersey Devils on Saturday afternoon. The Oilers have had their fair share of streaks on this rollercoaster ride of a season, both good and bad. They also had a four-game winning streak that came right after a seven-game losing streak. That certainly isn’t the case now, as goaltending has been a massive challenge for the Devils this season. All told, New Jersey has used six different goalies this season and they’ve combined for an .890 save percentage.

“There is uncertainty regarding economic outlook; a major reason is the … global commodity prices,” said an SBP report titled “The State of Pakistan’s Economy – First Quarterly (Jul-Sept) Report 2021-22”. However, the global commodity prices continued to inflate for different reasons including the current Russia-Ukraine war. Furthermore, overall credit conditions are expected to tighten in the wake of the policy rate hike. Meanwhile, downside risks to the fiscal outlook include a slowdown in economic activity, which would impact tax revenues, the report said. On the other hand, downside risks to the current account gap mainly relate to a sharp drop in global commodity prices and freight costs, it said.

The ongoing power game turned ugly for Prime Minister Imran Khan even before the voting on the no-confidence motion as around two dozen disgruntled MNAs of the ruling PTI came out in the open on Thursday. Riaz further said the lawmakers were not missing as they were in Islamabad, saying they had differences with PM Imran and his government’s policies. Sources said other PTI members currently at Sindh House include Rana Qasim Noon, Ghaffar Wattoo, Riaz Mazari, Basit Bukhari, Khawaja Sheraz, Ahmad Hasan Dehar, Nuzhat Pathan and Wajeeha Qamar. Sharing his reason of taking refuge at Sindh House, Kumar said he had sought protection from Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah after his wife was threatened at Parliament Lodges. They added that they would vote on the no-confidence motion against PM Imran in “accordance with their conscience”.

Kyle Dubas has often said he prefers to act early around the trade deadline. This trade deadline terrifies me, and it’s probably Nick Foligno’s fault. A good chunk of the leadup to the last trade deadline involved me saying there was no way that Kyle Dubas would be interested in Nick Foligno. The Leafs need to go into the trade deadline intending to use a good chunk of Muzzin’s LTIR space. Less than a week away from the NHL Trade Deadline and @DailyFaceoff will have you fully covered!

A great start, followed by some loose defensive zone play, made the game closer than it should have been. Over the past two seasons the Oilers have the best winning% when scoring first at .913. Seattle didn’t play last season, but even they are ahead of the Oilers this year scoring first 21 times. — The Oilers have struggled against the Sabres since McDavid arrived, winning three times in 10 games. The Sabres and Hurricanes are the only teams in the NHL McDavid isn’t averaging more than one point per game against.

KARACHI: When Australian cricket fan Luke Gillian last visited Pakistan in 1998, home supporters threw stones at him when he ventured out in public. These days everyone wants a selfie. Gillian is back in Pakistan with a small troupe of Australian super fans, dubbed the “Fanatics”, on their first tour of the country in nearly a quarter of a century — and has been blown away by the welcome they have received. Australia for 24 years, along with many international teams, declined to tour Pakistan on security grounds. The situation became worse after a fatal attack on the Sri Lanka team bus in Lahore in 2009, after which Pakistan had to play “home” games abroad for a decade, mostly in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

A few days ago, Pakistan hosted its fifth annual Aurat March—an event that aims to draw attention to a wide range of issues that disproportionately impact women— to mark International Women’s Day. The theme for women’s day this year was #BreakTheBias, underscoring the notion that it is no longer enough to acknowledge systematic biases. The Report further added that 59 per cent of women with three sons wanted to stop bearing children. According to Dr Azra, who campaigns for women’s health issues, despite five years of Aurat March, there still remains a lot to be planned and achieved in terms of women’s access to adequate healthcare. The health practitioner claimed that every year 2.2 million abortions are induced in Pakistan, in addition to over 1.4 million unwanted births in the country.

Also read: UK floats Johnson visit to Saudi Arabia as Russia sanctions biteIt would be a profound shift for Saudi Arabia to price even some of its roughly 6.2 million barrels a day of crude exports in anything other than dollars. On Monday, the WSJ reported that Saudi Arabia has invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit the kingdom in a trip that could happen as soon as May. The visit could help the kingdom deepen its ties with Beijing at a time of strained relations with Washington. "It is not just 'They buy oil from us and we buy weapons from them'."

Pakistan on Tuesday expressed serious concerns over a high court ruling in India upholding a hijab ban in the educational institutions of the country's Karnataka state. Earlier today, an Indian court upheld a ban on wearing of the hijab in classrooms in the southern state of Karnataka, a decision that could set a precedent for the rest of the country with a big Muslim minority. In a statement, the foreign office observed that the decision manifestly failed to uphold the principle of freedom to religious practices and impinges on the human rights. The foreign office feared that the flawed ruling would fast-track marginalisation of minorities, especially Muslims and would further embolden the Hindu-RSS zealots to target them with impunity. "Pakistan strongly urges the Indian government to ensure safety, security and protection of minorities, particularly Muslims, and their right to practice religion."
