Egyptian "furniture" exports rise to $236M in 11 months


CAIRO - 3 January 2022: Egypt’s furniture exports increased during the first 11 months of 2021 by about 7 percent to record $236 million, compared to $219 million during the same period in 2020. The monthly report issued by the Furniture Export Council stated, Monday, that the sector's exports during November decreased by about 36 percent, to record a value of $17.260 million, compared to $26.852 million during November 2020. The report added that March 2021 recorded the highest rate of increase by about 211 percent, reaching $27.291 million, compared to $8.763 million. "Egypt's exports of furniture to the Sultanate of Oman during the 11 months of 2021 declined 11.1 percent, amounting to $16 million, compared to $18 million,” it added. While the exports to the rest of the world hiked 30.2 percent, recording $56 million, compared to $43 million during the same period in 2020.
