Calcutta: A special committee has been formed to probe the charges against the principal of GD Birla Centre for Education after a four-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted. The panel will include representatives of the Bengal education department, the state commission for child rights protection, the ICSE board and Calcutta police. Till Monday night, no timeline for wrapping up the probe by the special committee had been set, sources said. Police sources said the probe would not be limited to the allegations against the principal but it might also cover those who took policy decisions in the school. Sources said a team of officers from the detective department went to the principal's residence for a round of examination before the decision to form the panel was announced.
