CAIRO – 11 August 2022: Youth aged 18-29 constitutes 40.2 percent of the workforce in Egypt with men representing 64.1 percent of these youth, Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said, citing data of 2022. Marriages among male youth aged 18-29 reached 59 percent of the marriages that took place in 2021, while marriages among female youth reached 82.4 percent, said the agency. On the other side, divorces among male and female youth reached 17.8 percent and 37.8 percent from the total divorces in 2021 respectively, according to the data. Moreover, death rate among young people in the age group (15-29 years) was 0.8 per thousand young people (1.0 per thousand males, 0.6 per thousand females), added the agency. Egyptian youth aged 18-29 represent more than 21 percent of the population, according to earlier data.
