MORE than 150 contributors to The New York Times have announced a boycott of the paper’s opinion section, protesting its ‘clear bias’ in its coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the ongoing imperialist war on Gaza. According to Middle East Eye, the contributors have pledged to stop submitting work to the paper, condemning its editorial stance as favouring the Israeli narrative. The writers urged the Times to reevaluate its editorial direction and update its style guide on Israel and Palestine. Vibrant Keswick (Image: Geneve Bartholomew-Brand)For me, minus the bear encounters, Keswick has always held that same air of excitement. Main Street, Keswick (Image: Geneve Bartholomew-Brand)We would also use our time in Keswick to visit the many outdoor shops and bookshops to stock up on Ordnance Survey maps and walking gear. I began with a coffee at Café West, next to the Keswick Museum, where I sat outside on a picnic bench and took in the morning sun. FBI Director Kash Patel crushed efforts by Tulsi Gabbard's closest advisor to see if a foreign power was involved in Charlie Kirk's assassination. The head of the National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, analyzed FBI files to determine whether Kirk's alleged killer received assistance from a foreign power. A round table meeting between Patel, Kent, Gabbard, Vice President JD Vance, White House chief of staff Susie Wilies, and senior DOJ officials was held at the White House. It is not clear if the FBI or the Counterterrorism Center is still investigating whether a foreign power assisted in the murder of Charlie Kirk. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Director of the National Counterterrorism Center Joe KentKent was confirmed to lead the Counterterrorism Center back in July, where he has since focused on disrupting narco-terrorist cells and cartels.

A Bill de Blasio imposter duped a reporter with a scathing interview, slamming his Democratic socialist pal Zohran Mamdani just days before the elections — forcing the publication to yank the story offline. “The story is entirely false and fabricated,” the former mayor said, before the Times of London pulled the story offline. De Blasio has publicly supported the leading mayoral contender, even sporting a “Hot Girls for Zohran” T-shirt at a recent protest. He endorsed the Queens assemblyman in a fawning op-ed about in September — claiming his “bold, sweeping” agenda would save the city. Has there ever been a more first world problem than the Sandbanks beach dispute? Sandbanks is the most expensive seaside real estate in the UK. One house that sold for £13.5 million in 2023 is now valued at £8.9 million — a 33 per cent drop in value. Another widespread belief is that the public has right of way over the foreshore regardless of who owns it. The British newspaper the Times has apologized and deleted an article after discovering its reporter had been duped by someone pretending to be Bill de Blasio, the former mayor of New York City. A man purporting to be De Blasio gave senior reporter Bevan Hurley a series of quotes criticising Zohran Mamdani, the frontrunner in the current mayoral race, ahead of the vote next Tuesday. The New York Post picked up the Times story before it was taken down, leading with the fabricated quotes, though later updating its article after De Blasio revealed the deception. A Cuomo spokesperson shared the article on social media, calling Mamdani’s proposals “glitter and vibes”. Mamdani has faced a particular vicious campaign in the race’s final days, despite widespread calls to lower hateful rhetoric following Charlie Kirk’s killing.

The British jewellery designer Annoushka Ducas has been creating quirky cufflinks and whimsical charms for more than 30 years, transforming significant life moments into intricate miniature gems. Her latest project is a set of seven charms she has designed for Claridge’s hotel in London. The charms all have moveable parts: the teapot’s lid lifts and the bear’s arms and legs wiggle (and its belly opens as a locket). Across Britain, boozers have gone boutique, pairing pints of real ale with seriously stylish bedrooms. The food’s stepped up too, sometimes all the way to Michelin-starred heights (take a bow, the Star Inn at Harome). Now it has taken down an ‘interview’ with Bill de Blasio in which the former New York mayor poured scorn on the frontrunner to take the role next month, Zohran Mamdani. The article was removed when it turned out the interviewee, er, wasn’t de Blasio at all. The team that found the tiny orange-legged arachnid, Aulonia albimana, which was last recorded in the UK in 1985, have informally named the species the white-knuckled wolf spider. “We had just four hours at the site where this spider was last seen 40 years ago, before our boat came to pick us up. “I found the first one with just nine minutes to go, and the second one in the last minute. I’ve seen 559 species of spider in the British Isles and this one was by far the most exciting find.”The team located the spider in a remote overgrown area of the reserve accessible only by boat, about 2km away from the spider’s former colony. Dr Helen Smith, conservation officer for the British Arachnological Society, said: “The remarkable discovery of this dapper little spider on the Isle of Wight is one of Britain’s epic ‘lost species’ rediscoveries of the century.
